- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between BuildCraft Solutions (Pty) Ltd and the named Carpenter upon signature by both parties. All work shall be performed at the project site in Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa, and no off-site fabrication shall occur without prior written approval from the project manager.
- The Carpenter shall commence work on 23 June 2025 and shall complete all items listed in this Purchase Order no later than 15 August 2025. Any delay attributable to the Carpenter shall incur a penalty of R2,500 per calendar day, deducted from the final payment.
- Payment terms: 30% deposit upon acceptance of this Purchase Order; 40% upon completion of items 1 through 4 (interim milestone); 30% upon final completion, inspection, and sign-off by the project architect. All payments shall be made via EFT to the Carpenter's registered bank account within 14 days of invoice receipt.
- The Carpenter shall maintain valid public liability insurance (minimum R5,000,000) and workers' compensation insurance in compliance with the South African Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) for the duration of the project.
- All timber materials supplied by the Carpenter must be FSC-certified or equivalent sustainable forestry certified. The Carpenter shall provide material data sheets and fire-retardant treatment certificates where applicable, in line with SANS 10400-X requirements for residential buildings in Johannesburg.
- The Carpenter shall comply with all applicable South African labour laws, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and shall ensure that all employees on the Johannesburg site are legally entitled to work in South Africa.
- A 24-month workmanship warranty is provided by the Carpenter on all carpentry and joinery works. Any defects arising from poor workmanship within this period shall be rectified by the Carpenter at no additional cost to the purchaser.
- The site is located in the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. The Carpenter shall obtain any necessary municipal permits for outdoor structural works (deck, staircase) and shall coordinate with the site's appointed quantity surveyor for progress claims.
- Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved in accordance with the rules of the South African Dispute Resolution Centre (SADRC) in Johannesburg, or alternatively in the Magistrate's Court of the Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
