This Purchase Order is issued by Meridian Analytics Pty Ltd to Apex Data Solutions Group Pty Ltd for the provision of a qualified Data Scientist to be engaged on a full-time, twelve-month contract basis. The Data Scientist shall be based at the Buyer's primary office located in Australia Sydney, NSW 2000, and shall report directly to the Chief Data Officer. The role encompasses the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models, predictive analytics pipelines, and statistical reporting frameworks to support the Buyer's enterprise data strategy. The Data Scientist is expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the Australia Sydney office, including engineering, product management, and business intelligence units.

The Data Scientist engagement shall commence on 1 July 2025 at the Buyer's Australia Sydney premises. The Supplier is required to confirm the identity and credentials of the nominated Data Scientist no later than 21 June 2025. A minimum of five (5) business days' notice is required for any proposed substitution of the Data Scientist, and such substitution must be approved in writing by the Buyer. The contract term shall conclude on 30 June 2026 unless extended by mutual written agreement. All deliverables, code repositories, model artefacts, and analytical documentation produced by the Data Scientist during the term of this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive intellectual property of Meridian Analytics Pty Ltd.
Payment shall be made on a monthly basis in arrears, within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice from the Supplier. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (PO-2025-DS-0472) and shall be submitted to the Buyer's accounts payable department in Australia Sydney. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate prescribed under the Australian Competition and Consumer Act 2010. The Buyer reserves the right to withhold payment for any period during which the Data Scientist is not performing to the agreed service level standards outlined in Schedule A of this Purchase Order.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the courts of Australia Sydney.
- The Supplier warrants that the Data Scientist nominated under this Purchase Order holds a minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant quantitative discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent) and possesses a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics.
- The Data Scientist shall comply with all applicable Australian privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, particularly given the sensitive nature of the data processed in the Australia Sydney data centre.
- The Supplier shall maintain adequate professional indemnity insurance (minimum AUD $10,000,000) and public liability insurance (minimum AUD $20,000,000) for the duration of this Purchase Order.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Buyer shall pay for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
- The Data Scientist shall be required to attend all mandatory company meetings, training sessions, and team activities held at the Australia Sydney office during standard business hours (08:30 to 17:00 AEST, Monday to Friday).
- This Purchase Order does not create a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between the Buyer and the Supplier. The Data Scientist remains an employee or contractor of the Supplier for all legal and tax purposes.
- All communications regarding this Purchase Order shall be directed to the contact persons identified in Sections 1 and 2 above. No variation to this Purchase Order shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by authorised representatives of both parties.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms, conditions, and pricing set forth in this Purchase Order for the engagement of a Data Scientist in Australia Sydney. This document constitutes a binding agreement upon execution by both parties.
