All print editions of The Economist shall be delivered no later than the first business day following each weekly publication date to the following address in Brasília, Federal District, Brazil: Esplanada dos Ministérios, Bloco C, Sala 412, CEP 70059-900. The supplier is responsible for all international logistics, Brazilian customs clearance, and final-mile delivery within the Brasília metropolitan area. Digital access credentials for The Economist platform shall be provisioned within five (5) business days of full payment confirmation. The supplier acknowledges that delivery to Brazil Brasília is subject to the regulatory framework of the Receita Federal do Brasil and all applicable import legislation under Decreto nº 6.759/2009.
- Payment shall be made in Brazilian Reais (BRL) via bank transfer (TED/DOC) to the supplier's designated foreign currency account, with the exchange rate fixed at the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central do Brasil) commercial rate on the date of invoice issuance.
- Payment is due within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of receipt of a valid tax invoice (fatura) issued in accordance with Brazilian tax regulations.
- A late payment penalty of 1% per month (proportional to days elapsed) shall apply to overdue amounts, in compliance with Article 41 of the Brazilian Civil Code (Código Civil, Lei nº 10.406/2002).
- The supplier shall provide a detailed breakdown of all charges, including import duties (Imposto de Importação), ICMS, and any applicable PIS/COFINS withholdings, on the final invoice.
- Early payment discount of 2% shall be available if settlement is completed within ten (10) calendar days of invoice date.
- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Buyer in Brasília, Brazil, and the Seller upon countersignature by both authorized representatives.
- The Economist content licensed under this Purchase Order is for internal government use only and shall not be redistributed, reproduced, or made publicly accessible beyond the authorized user base in Brasília without prior written consent from the supplier.
- The supplier warrants that all copies of The Economist delivered are authentic, undamaged, and in full compliance with Brazilian intellectual property law (Lei nº 9.610/1998 — Lei de Direitos Autorais).
- In the event of non-delivery or defective service, the Buyer in Brasília reserves the right to withhold payment, demand replacement, or terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice of fifteen (15) days.
- This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, with jurisdiction vested in the courts of Brasília, DF, for any disputes arising from its execution.
- Any amendments to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by both parties. Verbal modifications are null and void.
- The supplier shall maintain valid insurance coverage for the duration of this contract, including cargo insurance for international transit to Brazil Brasília.
- This Purchase Order is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of execution, after which renewal shall be subject to mutual written agreement and a new procurement process in accordance with Lei nº 14.133/2021 (Nova Lei de Licitações).
