Weekly print editions of The Economist shall arrive at the Kyoto facility no later than Tuesday of each publication week. Digital access credentials shall be provisioned within five (5) business days of confirmed payment. The vendor is responsible for all international shipping, customs documentation, and import clearance procedures required for delivery into Japan.
- Payment shall be made in Japanese Yen (JPY) via bank transfer to the vendor's designated international account within thirty (30) calendar days of the invoice date.
- The total amount due under this Purchase Order is JPY 793,100 (Seven Hundred Ninety-Three Thousand One Hundred Yen), inclusive of 10% Japanese consumption tax.

- The vendor shall provide a valid tax invoice compliant with both UK HMRC and Japanese National Tax Agency regulations upon request.
- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between Kyoto International Business Research Institute and The Economist Media & Distribution Ltd. upon countersignature by both parties.
- The subscription term shall commence on 1 July 2025 and expire on 30 June 2026, unless renewed in writing by either party no later than 30 days prior to expiry.
- The vendor guarantees uninterrupted delivery of all 52 weekly print issues of The Economist to the designated Kyoto, Japan address. Any missed delivery exceeding two consecutive weeks shall entitle the buyer to a pro-rata refund for the affected period.
- Digital access to The Economist's platform, including the full historical archive dating back to 1843, shall remain available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with a guaranteed uptime of 99.5%.
- Either party may terminate this agreement with sixty (60) days' written notice. In the event of early termination by the buyer, no refund shall be issued for the remaining subscription period.
- All intellectual property rights in The Economist's content remain the sole property of The Economist Group. The buyer is granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive license for internal research and educational use within the Kyoto facility only.
- This agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, with jurisdiction vested in the courts of London. However, any disputes regarding delivery logistics within Japan shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Kyoto District Court.
- Force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters affecting the Kyoto region, shall suspend delivery obligations for the duration of the event without penalty to either party.
