- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Islamabad Business & Economic Research Institute (hereinafter "the Buyer"), located in Pakistan Islamabad, and The Economist Group Limited (hereinafter "the Seller") for the procurement of The Economist magazine subscriptions, institutional licenses, and archival materials as itemized above.
- All physical copies of The Economist magazine and back-volume sets shall be delivered to the Buyer's registered address in Pakistan Islamabad within the timelines specified in Section 3. The Seller assumes full responsibility for international shipping, packaging, and customs clearance in accordance with the import regulations of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
- Payment shall be made via international wire transfer (SWIFT) to the Seller's designated bank account within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of this Purchase Order. The Buyer shall bear any intermediary bank charges arising from the cross-border transaction between Pakistan Islamabad and the United Kingdom.
- The Seller warrants that all issues of The Economist delivered under this Purchase Order shall be in pristine, undamaged condition. Any damaged or missing issues shall be replaced at the Seller's sole expense within ten (10) business days of written notice from the Buyer in Islamabad.
- Digital and institutional access to The Economist platform shall remain active for the full twelve (12) month subscription period. In the event of service interruption exceeding forty-eight (48) hours, the subscription period shall be extended proportionally.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom for matters relating to the supply of goods and services, and by the laws of Pakistan Islamabad for matters relating to import, customs, and local distribution. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in London under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
- The Buyer reserves the right to cancel this Purchase Order in whole or in part by providing thirty (30) days' written notice to the Seller. In the event of cancellation, the Seller shall refund any pre-paid amounts for undelivered issues of The Economist or unused subscription periods, less any non-recoverable shipping costs already incurred for delivery to Pakistan Islamabad.
- All intellectual property rights in The Economist content remain the exclusive property of The Economist Group Limited. The Buyer's institutional license permits internal research, academic reference, and internal circulation within the IBERI premises in Islamabad, Pakistan, only. No redistribution, republication, or commercial exploitation of The Economist content is permitted.
- The Seller shall provide a formal commercial invoice and packing list for all physical shipments to Pakistan Islamabad to facilitate customs clearance at Islamabad International Airport (ISB). All documents must be in English and include the Purchase Order reference number PO-2025-ISM-0472.
- This Purchase Order is valid for acceptance until 14 July 2025. Failure to confirm acceptance by the Seller within this period shall render this document null and void, and the Buyer in Pakistan Islamabad shall be free to source equivalent The Economist subscriptions from alternative authorized distributors.
