All print copies of The Economist shall be dispatched from the supplier's London facility no later than Tuesday of each publication week to ensure arrival in Doha, Qatar by the following Friday. The supplier is responsible for all international shipping, export documentation, and coordination with Qatar Customs Authority to ensure smooth clearance of periodical publications into the State of Qatar. The receiving address is the Doha Financial Centre, West Bay, and deliveries must be made between 08:00 and 16:00 Qatar Standard Time (AST, UTC+3). The supplier shall provide a tracking reference number for each weekly shipment. In the event of a delivery delay exceeding 48 hours beyond the scheduled arrival date, the supplier shall notify the buyer's procurement department in writing within 24 hours of identifying the delay.
- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between Al Rayyan Business Solutions W.L.L. (hereinafter "the Buyer") and The Economist Group Limited (hereinafter "the Supplier") for the supply of The Economist publications and associated digital services as detailed in the line items above.
- Payment shall be made via bank transfer to the Supplier's designated account within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice. The Buyer's bank is QNB (Qatar National Bank), Doha, Qatar. All payments shall be processed in Qatari Riyal (QAR) at the prevailing Central Bank of Qatar exchange rate on the date of invoice issuance.
- The Supplier warrants that all copies of The Economist delivered under this Purchase Order shall be genuine, undamaged, and in full compliance with the editorial standards of the publication. Any defective or damaged copies must be reported to the Buyer within five (5) business days of receipt, and the Supplier shall replace such copies at no additional cost within the following delivery cycle.
- The digital institutional license for Economist.com shall be activated no later than 01 July 2025. The Supplier shall provide the Buyer's IT department with all necessary login credentials, API access keys, and user management documentation within three (3) business days of the activation date. The license is valid for the State of Qatar and permits access from any location within the country, including the Doha Financial Centre and the Lusail satellite office.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the State of Qatar. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Doha, Qatar, unless both parties agree in writing to alternative dispute resolution.
- The Supplier shall comply with all applicable Qatar data protection regulations and the Qatar Cybercrime Law when handling the Buyer's subscriber data and user information associated with the digital access license.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Supplier shall provide a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of the subscription period, less any print issues already delivered and cleared through Qatar Customs.
- All intellectual property rights in The Economist content, including text, graphics, data, and editorial analysis, remain the exclusive property of The Economist Group Limited. The Buyer's license permits internal business use only and does not grant the right to redistribute, reproduce, or publicly display The Economist content beyond the scope of the institutional license.
- This Purchase Order is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue, after which it shall automatically renew unless either party provides written notice of non-renewal at least sixty (60) days prior to the expiry date.
