All print materials under this Purchase Order shall be delivered to the DSBIRI premises at Plot 47, Sam Nujoma Road, Mikocheni, Tanzania Dar es Salaam, no later than 30 June 2025. The Economist print subscriptions shall commence with the issue dated 21 June 2025 and continue weekly for the full subscription period. Digital access licenses (Items 02 and 05) shall be activated and made available to authorized DSBIRI users in Tanzania Dar es Salaam within five (5) business days of confirmed payment. The authorized local distributor, East African Periodicals & Media Supply Co. Ltd., shall coordinate final-mile delivery within Tanzania Dar es Salaam and ensure compliance with all Tanzania Revenue Authority import documentation requirements.
Payment shall be made by irrevocable letter of credit (LC) issued by CRDB Bank, Dar es Salaam Branch, in favor of The Economist Group Limited, London, within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of this Purchase Order. A 10% advance payment of USD 5,784.00 shall be remitted within seven (7) business days of mutual signature to confirm the order. The remaining balance of USD 52,056.00 shall be settled upon confirmed delivery and acceptance of all items in Tanzania Dar es Salaam. All payments shall be made in US Dollars (USD) via international wire transfer (SWIFT). The Buyer shall bear all banking charges on the Tanzania Dar es Salaam side, and the Seller shall bear charges on the London side.
8.1 This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania and, where applicable, the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam under the rules of the Tanzania Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (TCAM).
8.2 The Seller warrants that all copies of The Economist supplied under this Purchase Order are genuine, undamaged, and in full compliance with international publishing standards. Any defective or damaged items shall be replaced at the Seller's expense within fourteen (14) days of written notice from the Buyer in Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
8.3 The digital access licenses for The Economist (Items 02 and 05) are non-transferable and restricted to the named institution, DSBIRI, and its registered personnel operating from Tanzania Dar es Salaam. Unauthorized redistribution or sharing of access credentials shall result in immediate termination of the license and liability for damages.
8.4 The Buyer reserves the right to inspect all delivered materials upon arrival in Tanzania Dar es Salaam. Acceptance shall be confirmed in writing within ten (10) business days of delivery. Failure to provide written objection within this period shall constitute deemed acceptance.
8.5 Force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, government-imposed trade restrictions, or disruptions to international shipping routes affecting delivery to Tanzania Dar es Salaam, shall extend the delivery timeline proportionally without penalty to either party.
8.6 This Purchase Order becomes effective upon signature by both parties and remains valid until the expiration date stated herein. Any amendments must be made in writing and signed by both the Buyer in Tanzania Dar es Salaam and the Seller in London.
