This Purchase Order is issued by the Tanzania Infrastructure Development Authority (TIDA) to formally engage the services of a qualified Electrical Engineer for the design, review, and technical supervision of electrical infrastructure projects within the Tanzania Dar es Salaam metropolitan area. The selected Electrical Engineer shall provide full-time professional services in accordance with the Tanzanian Electrical Engineering Council (TEEC) standards, the Tanzania Energy and Water Utilities Authority (EWURA) regulations, and all applicable national building and electrical codes.
The Electrical Engineer engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform the following duties and responsibilities within Tanzania Dar es Salaam:

The Electrical Engineer engaged under this Purchase Order must hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc. Eng.) from a recognized institution, possess a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license issued by the Engineering Council of Tanzania, and maintain current registration with the Tanzania Electrical Engineering Council. A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive professional experience in power systems engineering, with at least five (5) years of demonstrated project delivery within Tanzania Dar es Salaam, is required. The Electrical Engineer must also carry professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of TZS 200,000,000, valid for the entire contract period.
- Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, including the Public Procurement Act, 2011, and all applicable regulations of the Tanzania Dar es Salaam City Council.
- Commencement: The Electrical Engineer shall commence all services no later than 1 July 2025, at the designated project sites within Tanzania Dar es Salaam as communicated by the TIDA Project Manager.
- Reporting: Monthly progress reports shall be submitted to the TIDA Procurement Department by the 5th business day of each month. All reports must be submitted in both English and Swahili.
- Payment Schedule: Invoices shall be submitted monthly. Payment shall be processed within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice and corresponding progress report. All payments shall be made in Tanzanian Shillings via bank transfer to the account specified by the Electrical Engineer.
- Intellectual Property: All designs, calculations, reports, and technical documentation produced by the Electrical Engineer under this Purchase Order shall become the exclusive property of TIDA upon full payment.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination for convenience, the Electrical Engineer shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the termination date.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall first be resolved through amicable negotiation. Failing resolution within thirty (30) days, the matter shall be referred to arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam in accordance with the Arbitration Act, Cap. 19 of the Laws of Tanzania.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: The Electrical Engineer shall comply with all occupational health and safety regulations enforced by the Tanzania Labour Research Institute and the Tanzania Dar es Salaam City Council environmental by-laws.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order for the engagement of the Electrical Engineer in Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
