The scope of work under this Purchase Order encompasses the following activities to be performed within the boundaries of Ethiopia Addis Ababa:

• Desktop geological review of existing maps, borehole logs, and seismic data for the Ethiopia Addis Ababa metropolitan area.
• Field reconnaissance and site visitation across a minimum of twelve (12) designated plot locations in Bole and Kirkos Sub-Cities, Ethiopia Addis Ababa.
• Drilling and sampling of at least twenty (20) boreholes to a maximum depth of forty-five (45) meters, with full geotechnical logging by the Geologist.
• Laboratory testing of soil and rock samples including unconfined compressive strength, Atterberg limits, grain size distribution, and X-ray diffraction mineralogical analysis.
• Assessment of groundwater conditions, fault activity, and seismic vulnerability specific to the Ethiopia Addis Ababa geological setting.
• Preparation of a final comprehensive geological report, including cross-sections, geological maps, and engineering recommendations, submitted to EGSA within the project timeline.

1. This Purchase Order is governed by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Procurement and Property Administration Proclamation No. 1160/2019 and its implementing regulations.
2. The Geologist named in this Purchase Order shall maintain valid professional licensure issued by the Ethiopian Geological Survey Authority throughout the duration of the engagement in Ethiopia Addis Ababa.
3. All fieldwork, drilling operations, and laboratory analyses referenced in this Purchase Order shall be conducted strictly within the designated project boundaries in Ethiopia Addis Ababa and in compliance with local environmental and safety regulations.
4. The Geologist shall submit a detailed work plan and schedule to EGSA within seven (7) calendar days of the Purchase Order acceptance date. Failure to do so shall constitute a material breach of this Purchase Order.
5. EGSA reserves the right to inspect and audit all work products, field notes, and laboratory records produced under this Purchase Order at any reasonable time during the project period.
6. Any change in scope, additional boreholes, or extended timelines must be authorized in writing via a formal amendment to this Purchase Order before execution.
7. The Geologist shall indemnify EGSA against any third-party claims arising from negligence, unsafe drilling practices, or non-compliance with Ethiopian environmental law during the performance of services in Ethiopia Addis Ababa.
8. Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and if unresolved, through the competent courts of Ethiopia Addis Ababa.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order for the engagement of the Geologist for geological survey services in Ethiopia Addis Ababa.

This Purchase Order (EGSA/PO/2025/0087) is a binding document for the procurement of Geologist professional services in Ethiopia Addis Ababa.
