The Journalist shall deliver all content and services in accordance with the following timeline, all dates falling within the Canada Montreal operational calendar:
- Phase 1 (June 16 – June 30, 2025): Completion of field research and initial interviews for the investigative journalism component in Canada Montreal. Delivery of first draft of Article 1.
- Phase 2 (July 1 – July 15, 2025): Delivery of Articles 2 and 3, completion of all live broadcast reporting assignments, and submission of multimedia content package.
- Phase 3 (July 16 – July 31, 2025): Final editorial revisions, fact-verification sign-off, and delivery of all completed deliverables to the Canada Montreal newsroom for publication.
Payment for this Purchase Order shall be made in Canadian Dollars (CAD) via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the Journalist's designated business account. The Purchasing Entity shall issue payment within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice from the Journalist. Invoices must reference Purchase Order number PO-2025-MTL-0472 and include the Journalist's Quebec business number. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate prescribed under the Quebec Civil Code. The Journalist is required to remit all applicable GST and QST to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec in accordance with Canadian tax legislation.
- Intellectual Property: Upon full payment, all journalistic content, photographs, audio, and video materials produced by the Journalist under this Purchase Order shall become the exclusive property of Montreal Media & Communications Group Inc. The Journalist retains the right to display the work in a professional portfolio with prior written consent.
- Confidentiality: The Journalist agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding unpublished sources, internal editorial strategies, and proprietary information of the Canada Montreal newsroom. This obligation survives the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
- Compliance with Canadian Law: The Journalist warrants that all work performed under this Purchase Order shall comply with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, the Canadian Press Code of Ethics, and all applicable municipal bylaws in Canada Montreal.
- Insurance: The Journalist shall maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of CAD $1,000,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order, valid throughout the Canada Montreal region.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with fourteen (14) days' written notice. By signing below, both parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this Purchase Order for the engagement of the Journalist in Canada Montreal. This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Purchasing Entity and the Journalist effective as of the date of the last signature.
