The Journalist engaged under this Purchase Order shall adhere to the Code of Ethics of the National Council for the Press of Kenya and the Kenya Press Council guidelines. All reporting shall be conducted with the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and impartiality. The Journalist is expected to maintain a dedicated workspace in Kenya Nairobi and be available for editorial meetings at the East African Media Group offices on Waiyaki Way, Upper Hill, Kenya Nairobi, no fewer than three (3) days per week. All content produced under this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive intellectual property of East African Media Group Ltd. upon full payment. The Journalist shall not publish, distribute, or license any material produced under this engagement to any third party without prior written consent from the company's Managing Director.
Terms and Conditions- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between East African Media Group Ltd. (hereinafter "the Buyer") and the named Journalist (hereinafter "the Supplier") upon signature by both parties. All services shall be rendered in and around Kenya Nairobi unless otherwise specified in a written addendum.
- Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice from the Journalist, subject to satisfactory completion and editorial approval of the deliverables outlined in this Purchase Order.
- The Journalist shall comply with all applicable Kenyan laws, including the Press and Media Act (2008), the Data Protection Act (2019), and the Kenya Information and Communications Act (1998), as amended, while performing duties in Kenya Nairobi and elsewhere in the Republic of Kenya.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with fourteen (14) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Journalist shall be compensated for all work completed and approved up to the date of termination.
- All disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Kenya Nairobi in accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act (2011) before resorting to litigation in the High Court of Kenya at Nairobi.
- The Journalist shall maintain all professional equipment purchased under this Purchase Order in good working condition and shall return all company property upon conclusion of the engagement.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. The place of performance and jurisdiction for all matters relating to this document is Kenya Nairobi.
