All deliverables, reporting activities, and equipment usage must remain within the defined geographic scope of Colombo District and its immediate administrative boundaries unless prior written amendment to this Purchase Order is executed by both parties. The Journalist shall adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Sri Lanka Press Council and the Code of Ethics for Journalists in Sri Lanka.

Terms and Conditions of This Purchase Order

  1. Scope of Work: The Journalist engaged under this Purchase Order shall produce a minimum of 15 long-form investigative articles, 30 short news reports, and 5 multimedia feature packages per month, all pertaining to civic, political, economic, and social affairs within Sri Lanka Colombo.
  2. Compliance: The Journalist and the supplier shall comply with all applicable laws of Sri Lanka, including but not limited to the Press Council Act, the Official Secrets Act, the Personal Data Protection Act, and the Media Act of Sri Lanka. Any violation shall constitute grounds for immediate termination of this Purchase Order.
  3. Payment Schedule: Payment shall be made in three equal monthly installments of LKR 1,288,166.67 each, due within 30 days of the end of each service month. Payment shall be processed via bank transfer to the supplier's designated account in Sri Lanka.
  4. Delivery and Acceptance: All Journalist-produced content and equipment deliveries shall be made to the CMPC office at 142, Galle Road, Colombo 03, Sri Lanka. Acceptance shall be confirmed in writing within five (5) business days of delivery.
  5. Intellectual Property: All content, recordings, photographs, and data produced by the Journalist under this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of the Colombo Media & Press Consortium. The Journalist retains the right to byline attribution as per Sri Lankan press conventions.
  6. Confidentiality: The Journalist shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding sources, unpublished material, and internal editorial strategies. Breach of confidentiality shall result in liquidated damages of LKR 500,000 in addition to any legal remedies available under Sri Lankan law.
  7. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination, the Journalist shall complete all in-progress assignments and hand over all equipment and materials within fourteen (14) days.
  8. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in accordance with the Arbitration Act of Sri Lanka. The jurisdiction of the Colombo District Court shall apply for any litigation.
  9. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to natural disasters, government-imposed curfews, or other events beyond reasonable control, as recognized under Sri Lankan commercial law.
  10. Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
