This Purchase Order is issued by Barcelona Biomedical Research Institute, S.L. to procure the professional services of a qualified Laboratory Technician to be deployed at our primary research facility located in Spain Barcelona. The Laboratory Technician shall be responsible for the full operational management of wet-lab procedures, including but not limited to sample preparation, reagent formulation, instrument calibration, quality control testing, data recording, and compliance with all applicable Spanish and European Union laboratory safety regulations (RD 374/2001 and ISO 17025:2017). The Laboratory Technician must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline, along with a valid professional registration with the General Council of Universities of Spain. Prior experience of at least three (3) years in a clinical or research laboratory environment within the Catalonia region is strongly preferred. The Laboratory Technician will report directly to the Head of Laboratory Operations at the Barcelona facility and will be expected to work a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts as required by the research programme.

- 1. Scope of Work: The Laboratory Technician engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform all duties as outlined in the attached job specification (Annex A) at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Institute facility in Spain Barcelona. The Laboratory Technician must adhere to all institutional protocols, data integrity standards, and biosafety level requirements applicable to the specific research projects assigned.
- 2. Payment Terms: Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of invoice receipt. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (PO-2025-BAR-00472) and include the supplier's NIF. Payment will be executed via SEPA bank transfer to the IBAN specified above.
- 3. Contract Duration and Renewal: The engagement of the Laboratory Technician is for an initial period of twelve (12) months commencing on 1 September 2025. This Purchase Order may be renewed for successive twelve-month periods subject to mutual written agreement and satisfactory performance review of the Laboratory Technician.
- 4. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice of sixty (60) days. In the event of termination, the Laboratory Technician's employment will be concluded in accordance with Spanish labour law (Estatuto de los Trabajadores, RDL 2/2015), and all statutory severance obligations in the Barcelona jurisdiction will be honoured.
- 5. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: The Laboratory Technician must comply with all regulations of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Generalitat de Catalunya health authority, and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The supplier guarantees that the Laboratory Technician holds all necessary professional credentials and that the position is registered with the Social Security system in Barcelona.
- 6. Confidentiality and Data Protection: The Laboratory Technician shall be bound by a non-disclosure agreement and must process all personal and research data in strict compliance with the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection.
- 7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This Purchase Order shall be governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved by the competent courts of Barcelona, Spain Barcelona, with exclusive jurisdiction.
- 8. Insurance: The supplier shall maintain comprehensive professional liability insurance and employer's liability insurance covering the Laboratory Technician for the full duration of the contract, with a minimum coverage of €1,000,000 per incident.
