This Purchase Order is issued by Midlands Clinical Diagnostics Limited for the provision of a qualified Laboratory Technician to be engaged on a fixed-term contract basis. The Laboratory Technician shall be assigned to operate within the buyer's premises located in United Kingdom Birmingham, specifically at the Corporation Street diagnostic facility. The role encompasses the full range of duties associated with a Laboratory Technician in a clinical diagnostics environment, including but not limited to the preparation of biological samples, operation of analytical instrumentation, maintenance of laboratory records in compliance with UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, and adherence to the Royal Society of Biology professional standards.
The Laboratory Technician must hold a minimum of a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a directly related discipline, and must possess current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent professional body operating within the United Kingdom. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in wet-laboratory techniques, molecular biology assays, haematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry. All work shall be performed at the designated site in United Kingdom Birmingham during standard business hours of 08:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday, with an anticipated contract duration of twelve (12) months commencing on 1 September 2025.

The Laboratory Technician shall commence duties no later than 08:00 on 1 September 2025 at the buyer's facility in United Kingdom Birmingham. The supplier is required to confirm the identity and qualifications of the appointed Laboratory Technician in writing no fewer than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the commencement date. All onboarding documentation, including signed employment contracts, right-to-work declarations, and insurance certificates, must be submitted to the buyer's Human Resources department in Birmingham prior to the first day of engagement.
Payment against this Purchase Order shall be made on a monthly basis in arrears. Invoices shall be submitted by the supplier to the buyer's accounts payable department by the fifth (5th) business day of each calendar month. Payment shall be effected by BACS transfer within thirty (30) days of receipt of a valid and correctly itemised invoice. - This Purchase Order is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom Birmingham.
- The Laboratory Technician shall be bound by the buyer's confidentiality and data protection policies, in full compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- The supplier warrants that the Laboratory Technician appointed under this Purchase Order shall not be subject to any conflict of interest, restrictive covenant, or prior employment obligation that would impede the performance of duties at the Birmingham facility.
- The buyer reserves the right to terminate this Purchase Order with fourteen (14) days' written notice in the event of material breach, gross misconduct by the Laboratory Technician, or failure to meet the professional standards required for clinical laboratory operations in the United Kingdom.
- All work performed by the Laboratory Technician shall comply with the UK Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002, and the relevant guidance issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
- The supplier shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum cover of £5,000,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order and shall provide a certificate of insurance upon request.
- Any amendments to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by authorised representatives of both parties. Verbal modifications shall be deemed null and void.
- The supplier shall ensure that the Laboratory Technician is enrolled in a qualifying pension scheme in accordance with the Pensions Act 2008 and that all statutory deductions, including Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions, are correctly administered in line with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) requirements.
This Purchase Order constitutes a binding offer to purchase the services described herein. Acceptance of this Purchase Order by the supplier shall be evidenced by the return of a signed copy to the buyer's procurement department within five (5) business days of the date of issue. Failure to return a signed acceptance within the stipulated period shall render this Purchase Order null and void.
