This Purchase Order is issued by the Alexandria Municipal Public Library Authority to procure the professional services of a qualified Librarian for the Alexandria Central Public Library, located in the historic heart of Egypt Alexandria. 6.1 This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, specifically the Egyptian Public Procurement Law No. 182 of 2018 and its subsequent amendments. All disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the competent courts in Alexandria, Egypt.
6.2 The Librarian engaged under this Purchase Order shall report directly to the Director of Library Operations at the Alexandria Municipal Public Library Authority. The Librarian's duties shall include but are not limited to: daily management of the reading rooms, supervision of the cataloguing and accessioning of new acquisitions, coordination with the Egyptian National Library for inter-library loan services, and the development of community outreach programs for residents of Egypt Alexandria.
6.3 Payment shall be made in monthly installments via bank transfer to the account designated by the Supplier. The first payment shall be due within fifteen (15) business days of the Librarian's confirmed start date. Late payments shall incur a penalty of 1.5% per month as stipulated by Egyptian commercial law.
6.4 The Supplier guarantees that the Librarian shall possess all necessary professional certifications recognized by the Egyptian Library Association and the Ministry of Higher Education. Any misrepresentation of qualifications shall render this Purchase Order void and subject to immediate termination with full refund of amounts paid.
6.5 Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Librarian's transition period shall not exceed fourteen (14) days to ensure continuity of library services to the public of Alexandria.
6.6 All intellectual property, digitized records, and cataloguing data produced by the Librarian during the term of this Purchase Order shall remain the exclusive property of the Alexandria Municipal Public Library Authority.
The Librarian shall commence duties no later than 1 August 2025 at the Alexandria Central Public Library premises. The Supplier shall ensure that all onboarding, background verification, and professional registration with the Egyptian Library Association are completed prior to the commencement date. The Purchase Order shall be considered fully executed upon the Librarian's first day of active service.
This Purchase Order is hereby authorized and approved by the undersigned representatives of both parties. By signing below, each party acknowledges the terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this document pertaining to the procurement of Librarian services in Egypt Alexandria.
