This Purchase Order is issued by the Stadtbibliothek Frankfurt am Main to formally engage the services of a qualified Librarian for the period specified below. The Librarian shall provide professional library management, cataloguing, digital archiving, and reader services in accordance with the standards set forth by the German Library Association (Deutscher Bibliotheksverband) and the specific operational requirements of the Frankfurt municipal library system. 5.1 This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Buyer and the Supplier for the provision of Librarian professional services as described herein. The Librarian shall perform all duties in compliance with the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch – BGB), applicable data protection regulations (GDPR / DSGVO), and the specific bylaws of the Stadtbibliothek Frankfurt am Main.
5.2 Payment shall be made via bank transfer (SEPA) within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice. The Supplier shall submit invoices on a monthly basis for recurring services and upon completion of project-based deliverables. All payments shall be processed in Euros (EUR) to the account specified on the Supplier's invoice.
5.3 The Librarian is required to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 500,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order. Proof of insurance shall be provided prior to the commencement of services.
5.4 All intellectual property, cataloguing records, metadata, and reports generated under this Purchase Order shall remain the exclusive property of the Stadtbibliothek Frankfurt am Main. The Librarian shall not reproduce, distribute, or publish any institutional data without prior written consent.
5.5 Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice period of sixty (60) days. In the event of early termination, the Buyer shall compensate the Librarian for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination, plus any non-recoverable project costs documented in writing.
5.6 Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The exclusive court of jurisdiction shall be the competent court in Frankfurt am Main, Germany Frankfurt.
5.7 The Librarian shall adhere to all health and safety regulations applicable to public library facilities in Germany Frankfurt, including fire safety protocols, accessibility requirements (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz), and data security standards for patron records.
Services under this Purchase Order shall commence on 1 July 2025 and conclude on 30 June 2026, unless extended by mutual written agreement. The Librarian shall report to the Head of Library Operations on the first business day of each month. Project-based deliverables (Items 02, 03, and 05) shall be submitted according to the milestone schedule attached as Appendix A to this Purchase Order.
This Purchase Order is issued and authorized by the undersigned representative of the Stadtbibliothek Frankfurt am Main. The Supplier acknowledges receipt and acceptance of this Purchase Order by signing below.
