This Purchase Order is issued by the Auckland Regional Knowledge & Information Services Trust to procure the professional services of a qualified Librarian to be deployed across multiple community library branches and information centres within the New Zealand Auckland metropolitan area. The Librarian engaged under this Purchase Order shall be responsible for the curation, cataloguing, digital migration, and community engagement activities associated with the Trust's expanding collection of Māori, Pacific, and general reference materials. The Librarian shall operate in full compliance with the New Zealand Public Libraries Act 1985 and all applicable local bylaws of the Auckland Council.

All Librarian positions referenced in this Purchase Order shall commence no later than 1 August 2025. The primary work location shall be the Auckland CBD Main Library at 125 Queen Street, with secondary assignments at the Ponsonby and Takapuna branches as directed by the Trust's Head of Library Operations. The Librarian personnel shall be expected to maintain a minimum of 95% attendance across the New Zealand Auckland service network and shall adhere to the Trust's code of conduct and equal employment opportunity policies.
- Payment shall be made on a monthly basis, in arrears, within 20 business days of receipt of a valid tax invoice from the Supplier.
- All payments shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the Supplier's nominated New Zealand bank account.
- The Supplier shall include the Purchase Order number (PO-AKL-2025-04782) on all invoices for reconciliation purposes.
- Late payments shall attract interest at the rate prescribed under the New Zealand Late Payment of Debts (Interest) Act 2011.
- Any disputed amounts shall be resolved within 10 business days of written notification by either party.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of New Zealand and shall be interpreted in accordance with the New Zealand Contract and Commercial Law Act 2014.
- The Librarian services procured under this Purchase Order are subject to the Trust's standard terms and conditions of engagement, which are incorporated by reference.
- The Supplier warrants that all Librarian personnel assigned to this Purchase Order hold current qualifications recognised by the New Zealand Library & Information Association and maintain valid professional indemnity insurance of no less than NZD 10,000,000.
- The Supplier shall comply with all applicable New Zealand employment legislation, including the Employment Relations Act 2000, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and the Human Rights Act 1993, in the engagement of Librarian staff.
- Confidentiality: All Librarian personnel shall be bound by strict confidentiality obligations regarding patron data, in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Trust's information governance policies.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 30 days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Supplier shall be compensated for all Librarian services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters affecting the New Zealand Auckland region.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, the matter shall be referred to mediation under the New Zealand Disputes Resolution Act 2010, and failing that, to the District Court of Auckland.
This Purchase Order is authorised for release upon the signatures of the undersigned representatives. By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order for the provision of Librarian services in New Zealand Auckland.
