This Purchase Order is issued by the Kampala University Research & Development Institute, located in Uganda Kampala, for the engagement of a qualified Mathematician to provide specialized mathematical consulting, research support, and analytical services. This Purchase Order governs the terms, conditions, scope of work, and financial arrangements for the professional services to be rendered by the Mathematician within the jurisdiction of Uganda Kampala. The Mathematician shall be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematical solutions, statistical modelling, and quantitative analysis in support of the Institute's ongoing research programmes and institutional development projects.
The Mathematician engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform the following duties and deliverables within Uganda Kampala:

- Validity: This Purchase Order is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue, commencing 1 July 2025 and concluding 30 June 2026, unless terminated earlier by mutual written agreement between the parties.
- Place of Performance: All services under this Purchase Order shall be performed primarily at the Kampala University Research & Development Institute premises in Uganda Kampala, or at such other locations within Uganda Kampala as may be mutually agreed upon in writing.
- Qualifications: The Mathematician shall hold a minimum of a Doctorate (PhD) in Mathematics or a closely related quantitative discipline and shall possess a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in applied mathematics, statistical analysis, or mathematical research.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in monthly instalments within thirty (30) days of the submission and approval of a detailed progress report by the Mathematician. All payments shall be made in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) via bank transfer to the account designated by the Mathematician.
- Taxation: The Mathematician shall be responsible for all applicable taxes, including but not limited to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) personal income tax, as mandated by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. The Institute shall withhold the applicable tax at source where required by Ugandan law.
- Intellectual Property: All mathematical models, algorithms, reports, and publications developed under this Purchase Order shall be the joint intellectual property of the Institute and the Mathematician, with the Institute retaining the primary right of use for institutional and governmental purposes within Uganda Kampala.
- Confidentiality: The Mathematician shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding all data, research findings, and institutional information accessed during the performance of services under this Purchase Order. This obligation shall survive the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order by providing thirty (30) days written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the Mathematician shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the date of termination.
- Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through arbitration in Uganda Kampala in accordance with the Arbitration Act of Uganda.
- Compliance: The Mathematician shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies of the Kampala University Research & Development Institute and the broader regulatory framework of Uganda Kampala.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms, conditions, and scope of work outlined in this Purchase Order. The Mathematician confirms acceptance of the engagement and commits to delivering the specified services in Uganda Kampala in accordance with the timelines and quality standards set forth herein.
