This Purchase Order is issued by the Sydney Institute for Advanced Medical Research (SIAMR), located in Australia Sydney, to procure the professional services of a qualified Medical Researcher through Meridian Research Consultancy Pty Ltd. The Medical Researcher must hold a minimum of a PhD in a relevant biomedical discipline, possess current Australian Medical Research Ethics approval, and demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of post-doctoral research experience in neurodegenerative disease pathways.

The Medical Researcher engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform the following duties within the Australia Sydney research facility:
- Design and execute experimental protocols aligned with the NHMRC-funded project on neurodegenerative disease biomarkers, ensuring all work complies with the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
- Supervise and mentor four (4) enrolled PhD candidates, providing weekly one-on-one guidance, progress reviews, and academic support at the Australia Sydney campus.
- Produce a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognised journals over the twelve-month contract period, with SIAMR listed as the primary affiliated institution in Australia Sydney.
- Present research findings at no fewer than two (2) national or international medical research conferences, with preference given to events held in Australia Sydney or within the Australian region.
- Maintain full compliance with the institution's Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) requirements, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and all applicable New South Wales health and safety legislation.
- Submit quarterly progress reports to the Chief Investigator and the SIAMR Research Governance Board, detailing experimental outcomes, budget utilisation, and any deviations from the approved research plan.
- Collaborate with the SIAMR Clinical Trials Unit and the Australia Sydney hospital network for translational research applications and patient cohort recruitment.
- 4.1 This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between SIAMR and Meridian Research Consultancy Pty Ltd upon signature by both parties. All services shall be rendered in accordance with Australian law, specifically the laws of New South Wales, Australia Sydney.
- 4.2 The Medical Researcher must maintain valid professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of AUD $10,000,000 and public liability insurance of AUD $20,000,000 throughout the engagement period.
- 4.3 All intellectual property, data, and research outputs generated under this Purchase Order shall be the sole property of SIAMR. The Medical Researcher shall execute a Deed of Assignment upon commencement.
- 4.4 Payment shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the bank account nominated by Meridian Research Consultancy Pty Ltd. Invoices must be submitted by the 25th of each month for services rendered in the preceding month. Payment is due within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice compliant with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements.
- 4.5 Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination, SIAMR shall pay for all services rendered up to the termination date, less any costs saved.
- 4.6 The Medical Researcher must comply with all SIAMR policies, including the Research Integrity Policy, the Conflict of Interest Policy, and the Australia Sydney campus Health and Safety Management Plan.
- 4.7 Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Australia Sydney in accordance with the Civil Procedure Act 2005 (NSW), failing which the matter shall be referred to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
- 4.8 This Purchase Order is subject to the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms, conditions, scope of work, and financial obligations outlined in this Purchase Order for the engagement of a Medical Researcher at the Australia Sydney research facility.
