This Purchase Order is issued by the Victorian Climate & Atmospheric Research Institute (VCARI) to engage a qualified Meteorologist for the provision of professional atmospheric science consulting services within the Australia Melbourne metropolitan region and the broader State of Victoria.   1. Scope and Compliance: The Meteorologist shall perform all duties in accordance with the Australian Meteorological Society Code of Professional Conduct and in compliance with the Meteorology Act 1990 (Cth) and the Victorian Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2010. All forecasts and advisories issued under this Purchase Order must be accurate, evidence-based, and clearly attributed to the Meteorologist's professional judgment.
  2. Location of Services: All on-site activities, data collection, and in-person deliverables under this Purchase Order shall be conducted within the Australia Melbourne metropolitan area and the State of Victoria, unless prior written approval is obtained from VCARI's Procurement Officer.
  3. Payment Terms: Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice. Invoices shall be submitted monthly in arrears. Payment will be processed via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the bank account nominated by the Meteorologist on file with VCARI Finance.
  4. Intellectual Property: All meteorological data, reports, forecasts, and analytical models produced specifically for VCARI under this Purchase Order shall be the intellectual property of VCARI. The Meteorologist retains the right to use anonymised, aggregated data for academic publication with prior written consent from VCARI.
  5. Confidentiality: The Meteorologist agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary research data, unpublished findings, and internal communications of VCARI. This obligation survives the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
  6. Insurance: The Meteorologist shall maintain, at their own cost, professional indemnity insurance of no less than AUD 5,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than AUD 10,000,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order. Certificates of insurance shall be provided to VCARI prior to the commencement of services.
  7. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Meteorologist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination, less any amounts already paid.
  8. Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia Melbourne jurisdiction. Any disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
  9. Health and Safety: The Meteorologist shall comply with all applicable Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations during on-site visits to VCARI facilities in Australia Melbourne, including the wearing of prescribed personal protective equipment during field operations.
