All payments under this Purchase Order shall be made in Japanese Yen (JPY) via bank transfer to the account designated by the Meteorologist or their registered consulting entity. Invoices are due within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt. A 15% retention shall be withheld from each quarterly payment and released upon satisfactory completion of the full service period. Late payments shall accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month in accordance with Japan Tokyo commercial practice.
- The Meteorologist shall maintain a valid Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) professional licence throughout the entire term of this Purchase Order and shall provide proof of continued certification upon request.
- All forecasts, analyses, and advisory documents produced under this engagement shall be the intellectual property of the Japan Tokyo Meteorological Services Consortium, with the Meteorologist retaining the right to reference the work in academic publications with prior written consent.
- The Meteorologist shall comply with all data protection regulations applicable in Japan Tokyo, including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), when handling any citizen or operational data.
- Force majeure events, including but not limited to typhoons, earthquakes, or government-mandated closures affecting Japan Tokyo, shall suspend performance obligations without penalty for a period not exceeding fourteen (14) consecutive days.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination, all completed deliverables shall be paid in full, and the Meteorologist shall return all proprietary equipment and data within seven (7) business days.
- Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Tokyo, Japan, in accordance with the rules of the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association before any litigation is commenced.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of Japan and the specific municipal regulations of Tokyo Metropolis.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge that this Purchase Order for Meteorologist services in Japan Tokyo has been reviewed, understood, and accepted in its entirety. No modifications to this document shall be valid unless executed in writing by both authorized signatories.
