This Purchase Order is issued for the recruitment, deployment, and professional engagement of a qualified Midwife to provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care services at the Tanzania Dar es Salaam Regional Referral Hospital and its affiliated peripheral health facilities. The Midwife shall be responsible for antenatal care, skilled birth attendance, postnatal care, family planning counseling, and neonatal resuscitation in accordance with the Tanzania National Midwifery Practice Standards and the guidelines issued by the Tanzania Health Professions Council.
The Midwife engaged under this Purchase Order must hold a valid Diploma in Midwifery (D.Mid) or a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (B.Sc. Midwifery) from a recognized institution in Tanzania or an equivalent qualification accredited by the Tanzania Commission for Universities. The Midwife must possess a current, valid practicing license issued by the Tanzania Health Professions Council and a minimum of three (3) years of documented clinical experience in a hospital or health center setting within Tanzania Dar es Salaam or a comparable urban health environment.

6.1 This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Tanzania Public Procurement Act, 2011, as amended. All disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the Tanzania Dar es Salaam High Court or through arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam in accordance with the Arbitration Act, Cap. 20 of the Laws of Tanzania.
6.2 The Midwife engaged under this Purchase Order shall comply with all infection prevention and control protocols, patient confidentiality requirements under the Tanzania Data Protection Act, 2022, and the Code of Professional Conduct for Midwives as established by the Tanzania Health Professions Council.
6.3 The service provider shall ensure that the Midwife is covered by adequate professional indemnity insurance for the duration of the contract. A certificate of insurance shall be submitted to the Purchasing Authority prior to the commencement of services in Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
6.4 Payment shall be processed through the Tanzania Dar es Salaam Regional Treasury Office via bank transfer to the account designated by the service provider. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (PO/TZ-DSS/MW/2025/0047) to be processed.
6.5 The Purchasing Authority reserves the right to terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice in the event of unsatisfactory performance by the Midwife, failure to meet clinical standards, or breach of any term herein.
6.6 All services rendered under this Purchase Order shall be conducted within the administrative boundaries of Tanzania Dar es Salaam Region unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Regional Medical Officer.
This Purchase Order is hereby issued and authorized for the procurement of the Midwife services described herein. The service provider is requested to confirm acceptance of this Purchase Order within five (5) working days of receipt by signing and returning a copy to the Regional Procurement Unit, Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
