The Nurse(s) engaged under this Purchase Order must satisfy the following mandatory criteria before commencing duties in Melbourne, Australia:

  • Hold an active, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA, valid for the duration of this Purchase Order engagement.
  • Provide a current National Police Check (Victoria) and a Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Victorian Government, as required for all clinical staff operating in Melbourne healthcare facilities.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of post-registration clinical experience in an acute or sub-acute setting within Australia, with at least one year in a metropolitan Melbourne hospital or clinic environment.
  • Complete the Meridian Health Services Melbourne onboarding programme, which includes facility-specific protocols, infection control standards aligned with the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC), and emergency evacuation procedures for the Collins Street and Docklands sites.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications as mandated for all Nurses practising in Victorian public and private healthcare settings.
  1. Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination Act 2010.
  2. Payment: Invoices submitted by Southern Cross Nursing & Allied Health Group under this Purchase Order shall be paid within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt. All payments shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the supplier's nominated Australian bank account. All amounts are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the current rate of 10%.
  3. Commencement and Duration: The Nurse engagement under this Purchase Order shall commence on 1 July 2025 and continue for a period of twelve (12) months, unless terminated earlier in accordance with Clause 6. The Nurse shall be required to work a standard 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with rostered shifts as determined by the Melbourne Metro Clinical Operations team.
  4. Confidentiality and Privacy: The Nurse engaged under this Purchase Order shall comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Victorian Health Records Act 2001. All patient information accessed, documented, or transmitted by the Nurse in Melbourne facilities shall be handled in strict accordance with these legislative frameworks.
  5. Performance Standards: The Nurse shall deliver clinical care in accordance with the NMBA Standards for Practice, the ACSQHC National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, and all internal clinical governance policies of Meridian Health Services Melbourne. Failure to meet these standards may result in a formal performance improvement plan or termination of this Purchase Order engagement.
  6. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. Meridian Health Services may terminate immediately if the Nurse's AHPRA registration is suspended, cancelled, or if the Nurse is found to be in breach of clinical safety obligations in Melbourne facilities.
  7. Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall first be referred to mediation under the Victorian Commercial Tenancy and Dispute Resolution framework. If unresolved, the matter shall be referred to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) or the Supreme Court of Victoria, Melbourne.
  8. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters affecting the Melbourne metropolitan area, government-mandated public health restrictions, or industrial action.
