This Purchase Order is issued by the St. Lawrence Oceanographic Research Institute, a federally funded research body headquartered in Canada Montreal, to procure specialized oceanographic instrumentation and field equipment. The primary objective of this acquisition is to support the ongoing research programme led by our senior Oceanographer, Dr. Marie-Claire Tremblay, whose team conducts comprehensive hydrographic surveys, water-column profiling, and benthic habitat assessments along the St. Lawrence River estuary and the adjacent Gulf of St. Lawrence. The equipment specified in this Purchase Order will be deployed from the research vessel CCGS Laurentides, which is berthed at the Port of Canada Montreal during the summer field season.
All items listed below have been selected in consultation with the lead Oceanographer and the institute's equipment management committee to ensure full compatibility with existing data-acquisition systems, compliance with Transport Canada marine safety regulations, and adherence to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) guidelines for field sampling in sensitive aquatic ecosystems. The supplier is required to provide full technical documentation, calibration certificates traceable to the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) standards, and a minimum two-year warranty on all electronic and sensor components.
