This Purchase Order is issued by the Amsterdam Maritime Research Institute (AMRI) to formally engage the services of Dr. Marina Kowalski, a licensed and certified Oceanographer, for the execution of comprehensive marine and freshwater oceanographic surveys within the jurisdiction of Netherlands Amsterdam. The Oceanographer shall be responsible for all fieldwork, laboratory analysis, data interpretation, and final reporting related to the IJ River and North Sea coastal sediment analysis project. All deliverables under this Purchase Order must comply with Dutch environmental regulations, the EU Water Framework Directive, and the specific technical standards outlined in Annex A of this document.

3.1 Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in three installments: 30% upon acceptance of this Purchase Order, 40% upon completion of all fieldwork in Netherlands Amsterdam, and 30% upon delivery and acceptance of the final Oceanographer’s Technical Report. All payments shall be transferred via SEPA bank transfer to the account specified by the Oceanographer. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice receipt.

3.2 Performance Standards: The Oceanographer shall perform all duties in accordance with the professional standards of the Royal Netherlands Institute of Oceanographers (KNIO) and the International Association of Oceanographers (IAO). All data collected in Netherlands Amsterdam must be submitted to the AMRI data repository within five (5) business days of each fieldwork session.

3.3 Health, Safety & Environment: The Oceanographer shall comply with all Dutch occupational health and safety regulations (Arbowet) and environmental permits required for fieldwork in Amsterdam harbor and coastal waters. A valid Dutch work permit and professional liability insurance (minimum EUR 2,000,000 coverage) must be presented before the commencement of any activity under this Purchase Order.

3.4 Intellectual Property: All data, reports, and analytical outputs produced under this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of the Amsterdam Maritime Research Institute. The Oceanographer retains the right to publish peer-reviewed academic papers, provided that a 90-day prior written notice is given to AMRI and all sensitive location data is anonymized.

3.5 Cancellation & Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 30 days’ written notice. In the event of early termination, the Oceanographer shall be compensated for all work completed and documented up to the termination date, as verified by AMRI project management.

3.6 Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be submitted to the competent courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and specifications set forth in this Purchase Order. The Oceanographer confirms availability to commence work on 1 August 2025 in Netherlands Amsterdam and certifies that all required professional licenses, insurance, and regulatory permits are in full effect.
