The Oceanographer engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform the following duties in Pakistan Karachi and its surrounding marine environment:
- Conduct a minimum of 30 field survey days across designated stations in Karachi Harbour, the Port Qasim approach channel, and the Indus Delta estuary.
- Collect and analyse water samples for dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, turbidity, heavy metals, and hydrocarbon content at depths ranging from surface to 80 metres.
- Perform benthic sediment sampling and grain-size analysis to assess coastal erosion patterns along the Karachi shoreline.
- Document marine biodiversity, including plankton communities, macro-invertebrates, and fish assemblages, in coordination with the Pakistan Marine Fisheries Department.
- Produce a comprehensive final report (minimum 200 pages) with GIS-mapped data layers, statistical analyses, and actionable recommendations for coastal management authorities in Pakistan Karachi.
- Deliver all raw and processed datasets in open formats (CSV, GeoTIFF, NetCDF) to MRDA within 30 days of fieldwork completion.
- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Buyer and the Seller upon signature by both parties. All terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
- The Oceanographer shall comply with all regulations issued by the Pakistan Maritime Authority, the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), and the Pakistan Navy Coastal Defence Command for operations in Pakistan Karachi waters.
- Payment shall be made in three instalments: 30% upon execution of this Purchase Order, 40% upon completion of fieldwork and submission of preliminary data, and 30% upon acceptance of the final report by MRDA's technical review committee.
- All oceanographic equipment procured under this order shall be delivered to MRDA's Karachi facility within 14 calendar days of the order date. Equipment must carry a minimum 24-month manufacturer warranty.
- The Oceanographer shall maintain full professional liability insurance covering a minimum of PKR 50,000,000 for the duration of the project in Pakistan Karachi.
- Any delay in delivery of services or equipment beyond the stipulated timelines shall attract a penalty of 0.5% of the total contract value per day of delay, up to a maximum of 10%.

The Oceanographer shall coordinate with the Karachi Port Trust and the Pakistan Navy for vessel berthing, anchor permissions, and safety clearances. All equipment deliveries shall be made to MRDA's warehouse at Plot 42, Clifton Block 5, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
