This Purchase Order is issued by the Lead Oceanographer of the Southern Vietnam Marine Research Institute for the procurement of specialized oceanographic instrumentation. All items listed herein are essential for the continuation of the 2025 Coastal Oceanographic Survey program based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The following terms and conditions apply to this Purchase Order:
5.1 Delivery: All equipment must be delivered to the Southern Vietnam Marine Research Institute, 227 Nguyen Van Cu Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Oceanographer's team will be present to receive and inspect all items upon arrival. Delivery must be completed no later than July 15, 2025, to allow adequate time for calibration and deployment before the monsoon season.
5.2 Quality Assurance: All oceanographic instruments must be factory-calibrated and accompanied by certificates of calibration traceable to international standards (ISO 17025). The Oceanographer reserves the right to reject any equipment that does not meet the specified performance parameters upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City.
5.3 Warranty and Support: The supplier shall provide a minimum 24-month warranty on all electronic and mechanical components. On-site technical support must be available in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for the first 90 days following delivery. Remote technical support must be available for the full warranty period.
5.4 Payment: Payment shall be made via international wire transfer to the supplier's designated bank account within 30 days of receipt of a valid commercial invoice. The Oceanographer's institution will process payment through the Ho Chi Minh City municipal research funding office.
5.5 Compliance: All equipment must comply with Vietnamese import regulations, environmental standards, and marine research guidelines. The supplier is responsible for providing all necessary documentation for customs clearance at the Ho Chi Minh City port or Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
5.6 Intellectual Property: All data collected using the purchased oceanographic equipment by the Oceanographer in the waters of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City shall remain the sole property of the Southern Vietnam Marine Research Institute.
Important Note to Supplier: This Purchase Order is specifically for oceanographic research equipment to be operated by a certified Oceanographer in the coastal and riverine waters of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. All equipment must be rated for tropical marine conditions (ambient water temperature 25°C–33°C, high humidity, and potential monsoon exposure). The Oceanographer's field operations will take place in the Saigon River, the Can Gio Mangrove Forest estuary, and the offshore South China Sea waters within 50 nautical miles of Ho Chi Minh City. Please ensure all packaging is suitable for tropical climate storage and transport.This Purchase Order is hereby authorized and approved for execution. By signing below, both parties acknowledge the terms, conditions, and obligations outlined in this document regarding the procurement of oceanographic equipment for use in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City.
