This Purchase Order is issued by CARPA to formally engage the services of a qualified Physicist for a period of twelve (12) months, commencing 1 August 2025, to support the Applied Nuclear Research Programme based in DR Congo Kinshasa. The Physicist shall be responsible for the design, execution, and reporting of experimental and theoretical physics research in collaboration with the CARPA laboratory team.

- Scope of Work: The Physicist engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform all duties in accordance with the research protocol approved by the CARPA Scientific Committee. All experimental work shall be conducted at the CARPA facility located in DR Congo Kinshasa, Gombe district, unless otherwise authorized in writing.
- Delivery / Commencement: Services shall commence on 1 August 2025. The Physicist is required to be physically present at the DR Congo Kinshasa laboratory no later than 08:00 EAT on the first working day of each month, with a minimum of 20 working days per month dedicated to on-site research activities.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in monthly installments of USD 9,903.50 (inclusive of VAT) within fifteen (15) business days following the submission of a valid invoice and a monthly progress report signed by the CARPA Project Director. The final installment shall be due upon completion of the twelve-month period and acceptance of the final research report.
- Intellectual Property: All research data, publications, patents, and intellectual property generated by the Physicist during the term of this Purchase Order shall be jointly owned by CARPA and the Physicist, with CARPA retaining primary rights for government and institutional use within DR Congo Kinshasa.
- Compliance: The Physicist shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including the Congolese Labour Code, radiation safety regulations enforced by the Agence Nationale de Sécurité Nucléaire (ANSN), and all local ordinances in Kinshasa.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination for cause, the Physicist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the termination date, less any damages incurred by CARPA.
- Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in DR Congo Kinshasa. If mediation fails, the matter shall be submitted to the competent commercial courts of Kinshasa, DR Congo.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to civil unrest, natural disasters, or government-imposed restrictions in DR Congo Kinshasa.
