5.1 This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the University of Brussels and Professor Hendrik J. De Smet for the duration of the service period specified herein. All services shall be rendered in Belgium Brussels unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.2 The Professor shall maintain all professional qualifications, academic credentials, and Belgian regulatory compliance throughout the term of this Purchase Order. Any change in professional status must be communicated to the Procurement Office within five (5) business days.
5.3 Payment shall be processed via bank transfer to the IBAN specified in Section 2. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (PO-BE-BRU-2025-04782) and comply with Belgian invoicing regulations (Article 574 of the Belgian Code of Companies and Associations).
5.4 All intellectual property produced by the Professor under this Purchase Order shall be jointly owned by the University of Brussels and the Professor, with publication rights governed by a separate intellectual property addendum.
5.5 The Professor shall comply with all data protection requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Belgian privacy legislation when handling student or institutional data within Belgium Brussels.
5.6 Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with sixty (60) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Professor shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
5.7 Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved by the competent courts of Belgium Brussels, in accordance with Belgian civil and commercial law.
