This Purchase Order is issued by Northgate Automation Solutions Ltd. to procure the services of a qualified Robotics Engineer to be engaged on a fixed-term contract basis. The Robotics Engineer shall be based at our primary operations facility in New Zealand Wellington, specifically at the Te Aro manufacturing and R&D campus. The role encompasses the design, development, integration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of industrial robotic systems, autonomous mobile robots, and collaborative robotic (cobot) platforms used in our advanced manufacturing and logistics operations.
The Robotics Engineer will report directly to Dr. James Whitmore and will work within the multidisciplinary engineering team located in New Zealand Wellington. The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in robotic system design, control systems programming (including ROS 2, PLC, and motion control), mechanical integration, and end-to-end project delivery. The successful candidate must hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering discipline, and must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid work visa permitting employment in New Zealand Wellington.

- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of New Zealand. All disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand Wellington, and the parties agree to the jurisdiction of the District Court, Wellington.
- The Robotics Engineer shall commence duties no later than 1 August 2025 at the Northgate Automation Solutions facility in New Zealand Wellington. Failure to commence within five (5) business days of the agreed start date without written notice may result in termination of this Purchase Order at the sole discretion of Northgate Automation Solutions Ltd.
- Payment terms: 50% of the total contract value (Item 1) shall be payable upon successful commencement and first-week performance review. The remaining 50% shall be payable in monthly instalments on the last working day of each calendar month. All other line items (Items 2–6) are payable within thirty (30) days of invoice receipt.
- The Robotics Engineer is engaged as an independent contractor under this Purchase Order and is not an employee of Northgate Automation Solutions Ltd. The supplier, Apex Technical Recruitment (NZ) Ltd., assumes all obligations related to employment law, PAYE, ACC levies, and KiwiSaver contributions as applicable under New Zealand legislation.
- All intellectual property, designs, code, documentation, and innovations produced by the Robotics Engineer during the course of this engagement in New Zealand Wellington shall be the sole and exclusive property of Northgate Automation Solutions Ltd. upon payment in full.
- The Robotics Engineer must comply with all health and safety regulations as set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (New Zealand) and all site-specific safety protocols at the Te Aro facility in New Zealand Wellington.
- This Purchase Order may be amended only by mutual written agreement signed by both parties. Any variation to scope, duration, or pricing must be documented as a formal Purchase Order amendment.
- Confidentiality: The Robotics Engineer shall be bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) executed prior to commencement. All proprietary information, client data, and technical specifications encountered in New Zealand Wellington shall remain strictly confidential for a period of three (3) years following contract completion.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of material breach, termination may be effected immediately upon written notice. Upon termination, all company property, access credentials, and documentation must be returned to the New Zealand Wellington facility within five (5) business days.
- All amounts stated in this Purchase Order are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the current rate of 15%.
