1. Purpose and Scope of Purchase Order

This Purchase Order is issued by Birmingham Metropolitan Schools Trust to formally procure the professional services of a qualified School Counselor for the academic year 2025/2026. The engagement is to be carried out within the geographical and administrative boundaries of United Kingdom Birmingham, specifically at the trust's primary and secondary school campuses located in the City of Birmingham. 3. Terms and Conditions
  1. Commencement Date: The School Counselor engagement shall commence on 1st September 2025 and conclude on 25th July 2026, subject to the trust's academic calendar in United Kingdom Birmingham.
  2. Payment Terms: Payment shall be made on a monthly basis within 30 days of receipt of a valid invoice. All payments shall be processed via BACS transfer to the account details provided by Educational Counselling Services Ltd.
  3. Qualification Requirements: The School Counselor must hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent, be registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the British Psychological Society (BPS), and possess a valid Enhanced DBS check as mandated for working with children in Birmingham.
  4. Safeguarding: The School Counselor shall comply fully with the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines and all safeguarding policies of Birmingham Metropolitan Schools Trust. Any concerns regarding child welfare must be reported immediately to the designated safeguarding lead.
  5. Confidentiality: All student records, counselling notes, and personal data shall be handled in strict accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Confidentiality protocols specific to the Birmingham education sector shall apply.
  6. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 8 weeks' written notice. In the event of termination, the School Counselor shall provide a minimum of 4 weeks' transition support to ensure continuity of care for students in Birmingham schools.
  7. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in accordance with the rules of the Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce, failing which the matter shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  8. Insurance: The service provider shall maintain professional indemnity insurance of no less than £5,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than £10,000,000 for the duration of the engagement in United Kingdom Birmingham.
4. Acceptance and Authorisation

This Purchase Order is issued in accordance with the procurement authority delegated to the Head of Human Resources, Birmingham Metropolitan Schools Trust.
