The engaged Special Education Teacher shall perform the following duties within the Tanzania Dar es Salaam jurisdiction:
- Deliver daily specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring compliance with the Tanzania National Curriculum Framework for Inclusive Education (2023 revision).
- Design, implement, and continuously update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in coordination with school psychologists, speech therapists, and general education colleagues.
- Conduct assessments using standardized and locally adapted instruments approved by the Tanzania Commission for School Inspection.
- Maintain detailed student progress records and submit quarterly reports to the Tanzania Dar es Salaam Education Regional Office.
- Collaborate with community health workers and social services in Tanzania Dar es Salaam to ensure holistic support for students with disabilities.
- Participate in at least two professional development workshops per academic year organized by DIESA or the Tanzania Dar es Salaam Municipal Council Education Department.
- Ensure all instructional materials are accessible, culturally appropriate, and available in Swahili and English as required by the Tanzania Dar es Salaam bilingual education policy.
- Payment shall be made monthly in arrears via bank transfer to the account designated by the Special Education Teacher.
- Invoices must be submitted to the DIESA Procurement Unit no later than the 5th business day of each month.
- Payment will be processed within 15 working days of receipt of a valid invoice, in accordance with Tanzania Dar es Salaam public financial management regulations.
- A 10% retention shall be held until the completion of the 12-month contract term and final satisfactory evaluation.
- All payments are subject to applicable Tanzanian tax withholdings as mandated by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
6.1 This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between DIESA and the Special Education Teacher for the duration specified. Any amendments must be made in writing and signed by both parties.
6.2 The Special Education Teacher must maintain a valid professional license issued by the Tanzania Commission for School Inspection throughout the contract period. Failure to do so shall result in immediate suspension of this Purchase Order.
6.3 The engagement is subject to a 30-day probationary period. During this period, either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 14 days' written notice.
6.4 The Special Education Teacher shall comply with all data protection and child safeguarding laws applicable in Tanzania, including the Tanzania Children's Act (Cap. 394) and the Tanzania Data Protection Act (2022).
6.5 All work shall be performed at the designated facility in Tanzania Dar es Salaam unless prior written approval is granted by DIESA for off-site activities.
6.6 In the event of force majeure, including but not limited to natural disasters affecting the Tanzania Dar es Salaam region, either party may suspend obligations with 7 days' written notice.
6.7 Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation under the Tanzania Arbitration Act (Cap. 392) before resorting to the courts of Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
This Purchase Order is issued and authorized by the undersigned on behalf of the Dar es Salaam Integrated Education Services Authority. The Special Education Teacher's acceptance of this Purchase Order shall be confirmed by signature below within 10 business days of receipt.
