This Purchase Order authorizes the engagement of a qualified University Lecturer to deliver academic instruction, mentorship, and research supervision within the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. The University Lecturer shall be responsible for the following duties and deliverables as specified in the line items below. - Qualification Requirements: The University Lecturer must hold a Doctorate (Ph.D.) or equivalent terminal degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, as recognized by the Ministry of Education of Chile (Ministerio de Educación). The candidate must be registered with the relevant professional college in Santiago, Chile.
- Academic Calendar Compliance: All teaching and supervisory duties shall align with the official academic calendar of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. The University Lecturer shall be available during regular working hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00) at the Santiago campus unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Payment Schedule: Compensation shall be disbursed monthly via bank transfer to the account designated by the University Lecturer. Payments are due within 15 calendar days following the end of each month. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate established by the Banco Central de Chile.
- Intellectual Property: All research outputs, publications, and teaching materials developed by the University Lecturer during the term of this Purchase Order shall be jointly owned by the University Lecturer and the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, in accordance with Chilean intellectual property law (Ley 17.336).
- Confidentiality: The University Lecturer shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records, institutional data, and proprietary course materials. This obligation survives the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 30 days' written notice. The Universidad de Santiago de Chile may terminate immediately for cause, including but not limited to academic misconduct, failure to meet performance standards, or violation of Chilean labor regulations.
- Compliance with Chilean Law: This Purchase Order is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the República de Chile, including the Código del Trabajo, Ley 19.886, and all applicable regulations of the Superintendencia de Educación.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall first be subject to mediation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be adjudicated by the competent labor courts of Santiago, Chile.
- Renewal: This Purchase Order may be renewed for successive 12-month periods upon mutual written agreement, subject to satisfactory performance evaluation by the University Lecturer as assessed by the Faculty Dean's office in Santiago.
This Purchase Order is hereby authorized and approved for the engagement of the aforementioned University Lecturer at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Santiago, Chile. By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this document.
