3. Delivery and Commencement Details
This Purchase Order authorizes the engagement of the named University Lecturer effective from 1 September 2025 through 31 August 2026, corresponding to the 2025/2026 academic year at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia Addis Ababa. All academic duties, laboratory sessions, and research supervision activities shall be conducted on the main campus of Addis Ababa University, located in the Bole area of Ethiopia Addis Ababa. The University Lecturer is expected to report to the Head of the Department of Chemistry no later than 08:00 EAT on the first day of the semester.
4. Payment Terms and Conditions
- Payment shall be made in quarterly installments of ETB 287,500.00 (inclusive of VAT) via bank transfer to the account specified above, within thirty (30) calendar days following the end of each academic quarter.
- All payments are subject to verification of service delivery by the Departmental Head and the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia Addis Ababa.
- The Purchase Order is governed by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Public Procurement and Property Administration Proclamation No. 1160/2019 and its implementing regulations.
- Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the Ethiopian Arbitration and Conciliation Commission in Ethiopia Addis Ababa before resorting to litigation in the Federal Courts.
- The University Lecturer shall comply with all institutional policies of Addis Ababa University, including the Code of Conduct for Academic Staff, the Research Ethics Committee guidelines, and the Anti-Corruption and Good Governance directives issued by the Ethiopian government.
- Early termination of this Purchase Order may be initiated by either party with a written notice of sixty (60) days, subject to the terms of the Ethiopian Labour Proclamation No. 1156/2019.
- All intellectual property generated during the course of this engagement shall remain the property of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia Addis Ababa, in accordance with institutional IP policy.
5. Authorization and Approval
This Purchase Order has been reviewed and approved in accordance with the financial delegation of authority of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia Addis Ababa. The engagement of this University Lecturer has been endorsed by the Faculty Board and the University Senate.
