This Purchase Order authorises the engagement of a University Lecturer to deliver academic instruction, supervise postgraduate research, and contribute to the scholarly output of the Victoria University of Wellington, located in the capital city of New Zealand Wellington. The University Lecturer shall be responsible for the following deliverables and obligations:

- This Purchase Order is issued in accordance with the Victoria University of Wellington Procurement Policy (2024) and the New Zealand Public Finance Act 1989. All terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
- The University Lecturer shall commence duties on 1 March 2025 at the Kelburn Campus, Victoria University of Wellington, 66 Federation Avenue, Wellington, New Zealand. The University Lecturer is expected to be physically present in Wellington for a minimum of 80% of working days.
- Payment shall be made on a fortnightly basis via direct deposit to the University Lecturer's nominated New Zealand bank account, in accordance with the New Zealand standard payroll cycle. All amounts are stated in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are subject to applicable income tax deductions under Inland Revenue Department (IRD) regulations.
- The University Lecturer shall be entitled to 4 weeks of annual leave, public holidays as gazetted in New Zealand, and 10 days of professional development leave per annum, in accordance with the New Zealand Education Workers' Union (EWNZ) collective agreement.
- Performance review shall be conducted at 12 months and 24 months of the contract term. The University Lecturer's performance shall be assessed against the Victoria University of Wellington Academic Performance Framework, with particular emphasis on teaching quality, research contribution, and service to the Wellington academic community.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order arrangement with 3 months' written notice. In the event of termination by the University, the University Lecturer shall be entitled to a pro-rata payment for services rendered up to the termination date.
- The University Lecturer shall comply with all New Zealand health and safety regulations, the Victoria University of Wellington Code of Conduct, and all applicable data privacy obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.
- All intellectual property produced by the University Lecturer in the course of their duties at the Wellington campus shall be subject to the Victoria University of Wellington Intellectual Property Policy. The University Lecturer retains authorship rights to their scholarly publications.
- This Purchase Order does not constitute a guarantee of permanent employment. The 3-year fixed-term contract may be renewed at the discretion of the Vice-Chancellor and the Faculty Board, subject to satisfactory performance review and continued funding availability.
- Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved in accordance with the New Zealand Employment Relations Act 2000 and may be referred to the Employment Relations Authority in Wellington.
