The University Lecturer engagement shall commence on 1 September 2025 and conclude on 31 August 2026, subject to the terms of this Purchase Order. All academic duties, including lectures, tutorials, laboratory supervision, and examination marking, shall be conducted at the University of Manchester campus located on Oxford Road, Manchester, United Kingdom. The University Lecturer is expected to be present on the Manchester campus for a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per week during term time, with additional hours allocated for research supervision, administrative duties, and professional development activities as outlined in this Purchase Order.

Payment for the services rendered under this Purchase Order shall be made on a monthly basis via direct bank transfer (BACS) to the University Lecturer's nominated bank account in the United Kingdom. Invoices shall be submitted to the University of Manchester Finance Office, Manchester, United Kingdom, by the fifth (5th) business day of each month for the preceding month's services. Payment shall be processed within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice. The University Lecturer shall be responsible for all applicable income tax and National Insurance contributions in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) regulations in the United Kingdom. The University of Manchester shall operate a PAYE (Pay As You Earn) scheme for the deduction of tax and National Insurance at source.

  1. This Purchase Order is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manchester, United Kingdom.
  2. The University Lecturer shall comply with all University of Manchester policies, including but not limited to the Academic Integrity Policy, the Research Governance Framework, the Health and Safety Regulations, and the Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended by the UK GDPR).
  3. The University Lecturer shall maintain professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance throughout the duration of this Purchase Order, with minimum cover of £5,000,000 in the United Kingdom.
  4. Any amendments, variations, or extensions to this Purchase Order must be agreed upon in writing by both parties and countersigned by an authorized representative of the University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom.
  5. The University Lecturer shall not disclose any confidential information, student data, or proprietary research materials belonging to the University of Manchester to any third party without prior written consent, in accordance with the United Kingdom's data protection legislation.
  6. Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice of three (3) months during term time or one (1) month during vacation periods, in accordance with the University of Manchester's Staff Regulations and the applicable employment law in the United Kingdom.
  7. The University Lecturer shall be entitled to a minimum of twenty-five (25) working days of annual leave, plus public holidays observed in Manchester, United Kingdom, in accordance with the Working Time Regulations 1998.
  8. All intellectual property generated by the University Lecturer in the course of duties under this Purchase Order shall be the property of the University of Manchester, subject to the University's Intellectual Property Policy and the United Kingdom's Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
