3.1 Payment Schedule
Payment for the services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall be made in three installments: 40% upon contract execution, 35% upon delivery of the interim research findings, and 25% upon final acceptance of the completed research report. All payments shall be made in Japanese Yen (JPY) via bank transfer to the account designated by the Academic Researcher. Late payments shall incur a surcharge of 1.5% per month as stipulated under Japanese commercial law.
3.2 Validity and Acceptance
This Quotation Estimate remains valid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of issue. Acceptance of this Quotation Estimate constitutes a binding agreement between the requesting institution and the Academic Researcher. Any modifications to the scope of work must be documented in a written addendum signed by both parties prior to implementation.
3.3 Intellectual Property and Publication Rights
All original research findings, data sets, and written materials produced by the Academic Researcher under this engagement in Japan Osaka shall be jointly owned by the requesting institution and the researcher, unless otherwise specified in a separate intellectual property agreement. The Academic Researcher retains the right to publish findings in peer-reviewed academic journals, provided that the requesting institution is granted a thirty-day prior review period.
3.4 Confidentiality and Data Protection
The Academic Researcher shall adhere to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) of Japan and all institutional data protection policies applicable in Japan Osaka. All participant data collected during field research shall be anonymized and stored on encrypted servers located within Japan. Confidentiality obligations shall survive the termination of this engagement for a period of five (5) years.
3.5 Cancellation and Termination
Either party may terminate this Quotation Estimate agreement with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of early termination, the Academic Researcher shall be compensated for all work completed up to the date of termination, plus a 10% administrative fee. The requesting institution shall provide full access to all data and materials collected to date.
Important: All field research activities conducted in Japan Osaka under this Quotation Estimate require prior approval from the relevant municipal authorities where applicable. The Academic Researcher is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits for access to restricted archives, government facilities, or private properties within Osaka Prefecture.
