This Quotation Estimate is formally issued to provide a comprehensive and transparent breakdown of costs associated with the engagement of a qualified Academic Researcher for a structured research project to be conducted in Kenya Nairobi. The purpose of this document is to outline the scope of services, deliverables, timelines, and associated financial charges for the client's review and approval. All figures presented in this Quotation Estimate are denominated in Kenyan Shillings (KES) and reflect current market rates for academic research services in the Nairobi metropolitan area.
The Academic Researcher engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and deliverables within the Kenya Nairobi region:
- Literature Review and Desk Research: Conduct a thorough review of existing academic literature, policy documents, and prior research findings relevant to the client's stated research objectives. This includes access to the National Archives of Kenya, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data repositories, and the University of Nairobi library resources located in Nairobi.
- Field Research and Data Collection: Design and implement primary data collection instruments (structured questionnaires, semi-structured interview guides, and focus group discussion protocols) targeting communities across Nairobi County, including the informal settlements of Kibera, Mathare, and Mukuru. - Peer Review and Revision Support: Submit the draft report for internal peer review within the Kenya Nairobi academic community and incorporate feedback from at least two independent reviewers before final delivery.
- Stakeholder Presentation: Deliver a formal presentation of findings to the client's board and relevant stakeholders at a venue in Nairobi, including preparation of presentation materials and a Q&A session.

This Quotation Estimate stipulates the following payment schedule to be adhered to by the client:
30% Advance Payment (KES 570,810): Due within seven (7) working days of signed acceptance of this Quotation Estimate, to cover mobilisation, ethical clearance, and initial procurement of materials in Kenya Nairobi.
40% Mid-Project Payment (KES 761,080): Due upon submission and acceptance of the interim data analysis report at the end of Week 10.
30% Final Payment (KES 570,810): Due within fourteen (14) days of delivery of the final research report and completion of the stakeholder presentation in Nairobi.
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the Academic Researcher's designated account. Late payments shall attract a penalty of 1.5% per month as per standard commercial practice in Kenya.
6.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates are subject to revision based on prevailing economic conditions in Kenya Nairobi.
6.2 The Academic Researcher reserves the right to withdraw from this engagement if the advance payment is not received within the stipulated timeframe.
6.3 All intellectual property rights in the final research report shall vest with the client upon full and final payment, subject to the Academic Researcher's right to cite the work in future academic publications with proper attribution.
6.4 The Academic Researcher shall comply with all applicable Kenyan data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act, 2019, and shall ensure informed consent is obtained from all research participants in Kenya Nairobi.
6.5 Any changes to the scope of work outlined in this Quotation Estimate must be agreed upon in writing by both parties and may result in a revised cost estimate.
6.6 This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until countersigned by both parties. The formal service agreement shall be executed separately.
