1. SCOPE OF SERVICES — Academic Researcher EngagementThis Quotation Estimate is issued by Meridian Research Consulting Group to formally outline the professional services to be rendered by a qualified Academic Researcher engaged on behalf of the client. The scope of work described herein pertains to a comprehensive research engagement to be conducted within the metropolitan area of United States Chicago, encompassing fieldwork, data collection, literature synthesis, and analytical reporting. The Academic Researcher assigned to this project holds a Doctoral degree in the relevant discipline and possesses a minimum of eight years of peer-reviewed publication experience. All deliverables will conform to the academic standards expected by institutions operating in the United States Chicago higher education and research ecosystem.

3.1 Payment Schedule: Payment shall be rendered in four equal installments of $36,250.00, due at project initiation, at the 25% completion milestone, at the 50% completion milestone, and upon final delivery of all deliverables. Late payments shall accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month, consistent with commercial practices in United States Chicago.
3.2 Intellectual Property: All research outputs, including but not limited to datasets, analytical models, and written reports produced by the Academic Researcher, shall become the sole property of the client upon full and final payment. The Academic Researcher retains the right to reference the engagement in professional portfolios and academic CVs, subject to the client's written consent regarding publication of specific findings.
3.3 Confidentiality: The Academic Researcher and all supporting personnel shall adhere to a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in compliance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act and applicable federal research data protection regulations. All participant data collected in the United States Chicago area shall be anonymized and stored in accordance with IRB-approved protocols.
3.4 Cancellation and Termination: Either party may terminate this engagement with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of client-initiated cancellation, all work completed to date shall be invoiced at the rates specified in this Quotation Estimate. The Academic Researcher reserves the right to withdraw from the engagement if payment terms are not met within fifteen (15) business days of invoice date.
3.5 Governing Law: This Quotation Estimate and any resulting contractual obligations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Chicago, Illinois, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
3.6 Limitation of Liability: Meridian Research Consulting Group and the assigned Academic Researcher shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the performance of services described in this estimate. Total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid under this Quotation Estimate.
4. ACCEPTANCE AND AUTHORIZATIONBy signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein for the engagement of the Academic Researcher services in United States Chicago. This document does not constitute a binding contract until a formal Master Service Agreement is executed by both parties.
