1. Executive Summary

This Quotation Estimate is formally submitted to the Kyoto Municipal Cultural & Scientific Affairs Bureau for the engagement of a senior Astronomer to conduct a comprehensive twelve-month research, educational, and public outreach programme in Japan Kyoto. 2. Scope of Services

4. Payment Schedule

This Quotation Estimate stipulates the following payment milestones, all denominated in Japanese Yen and payable to the Kyoto Astronomical Research & Cultural Institute:

  • 30% advance payment (JPY 8,593,200) upon execution of the contract and acceptance of this Quotation Estimate.
  • 40% interim payment (JPY 11,457,600) due at the completion of Month 6, subject to delivery of the mid-term progress report and exhibition installation.
  • 30% final payment (JPY 8,593,200) due upon completion of Month 12, subject to delivery of the final annual report, all publications, and the closing exhibition de-installation.

5. Terms & Conditions

  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates are subject to revision.
  2. The Astronomer shall maintain full professional liability insurance and comply with all applicable Japanese national and Japan Kyoto municipal regulations governing public gatherings, educational activities, and research operations.
  3. All intellectual property generated during the engagement, including observational data, publications, and exhibition materials, shall be jointly owned by the Astronomer and the Japan Kyoto Municipal Bureau, with mutual consent required for any third-party commercial use.
  4. Force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters (earthquakes, typhoons) common to the Japan Kyoto region, shall suspend contractual obligations without penalty for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days.
  5. Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through mediation under the jurisdiction of the Japan Kyoto District Court.
  6. The Astronomer shall observe all cultural sensitivities and protocols specific to Japan Kyoto, including respect for Shinto and Buddhist sites during field observation activities.
  7. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until countersigned by both parties and the advance payment has been received.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and accept the terms, scope, and financial obligations outlined in this Quotation Estimate for the Astronomer engagement in Japan Kyoto.
