The Astronomer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties while stationed in Qatar Doha:

• Lead and supervise a team of no fewer than six (6) postdoctoral researchers and graduate students at the Doha Observatory facility.
• Design and implement at least two (2) peer-reviewed research programmes per annum in the fields of exoplanetary science, stellar astrophysics, or cosmology.
• Provide technical advisory services to the Qatar Doha municipal planning authority regarding the impact of light pollution on astronomical observations in the Doha metropolitan area.
• Deliver a minimum of four (4) public science-communication lectures per year at universities and cultural venues across Qatar Doha, including Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and the National Museum of Qatar.
• Collaborate with international observatories and contribute to at least three (3) joint publications in Q1-ranked astronomy journals annually.
• Oversee the calibration, maintenance scheduling, and operational readiness of the 2.4-metre Ritchey-Chrétien telescope housed at the Doha Observatory site.

Payment for the services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall be made in three (3) instalments as follows:

• Instalment 1 (40%): QAR 338,100 — due within fourteen (14) calendar days of signed acceptance of this Quotation Estimate and prior to the Astronomer's arrival in Qatar Doha.
• Instalment 2 (35%): QAR 295,837.50 — due on the first day of the fifth month of the Astronomer's engagement in Qatar Doha.
• Instalment 3 (25%): QAR 211,312.50 — due on the first day of the eleventh month of the engagement period.

All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the account of Meridian Academic Partners LLC, Bank of Qatar, Doha branch, in Qatari Riyal (QAR). Late payments shall attract a penalty of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance.

1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all costs associated with the Astronomer engagement in Qatar Doha are subject to revision based on prevailing market rates and exchange conditions.
2. The Astronomer shall be employed in strict compliance with the Qatar Labour Law (Law No. 14 of 2004, as amended) and all applicable regulations of the Ministry of Labour in Qatar Doha.
3. Meridian Academic Partners LLC shall not be held liable for any delays in visa processing, work-permit issuance, or governmental approvals in Qatar Doha that are beyond its reasonable control.
4. The Astronomer shall be required to serve a minimum notice period of three (3) months in the event of early termination of the engagement in Qatar Doha.
5. All intellectual property generated by the Astronomer during the course of this engagement in Qatar Doha shall be jointly owned by the Astronomer and the Qatar National Research Foundation, as stipulated in a separate Intellectual Property Agreement to be executed prior to commencement.
6. Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through arbitration in Doha, Qatar, in accordance with the rules of the Qatar International Centre for Reconciliation and Arbitration (QICRA).
7. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until countersigned by both parties and accompanied by the execution of the formal Employment and Service Agreement.
