This Quotation Estimate has been prepared by Meridian Biological Consultancy Ltd to provide a comprehensive and transparent financial breakdown for the engagement of a qualified Biologist to deliver ecological assessment, habitat survey, and biodiversity reporting services within the United Kingdom Birmingham metropolitan area. This document serves as a formal estimate of costs, deliverables, timelines, and professional terms associated with the proposed biological consultancy work. All figures presented herein are exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate of 20% applicable in the United Kingdom.
The Biologist engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and deliverables across designated sites in United Kingdom Birmingham, including but not limited to the areas of Selly Oak, Edgbaston, Erdington, and the River Tame corridor:
- Phase 1 Ecological Desk Study: Compilation of existing ecological data, review of Local Nature Partnership records, and analysis of protected species registers relevant to the Birmingham planning authority. Estimated duration: 10 working days.
- Phase 2 Field Surveys: On-site habitat mapping, flora and fauna identification, amphibian and reptile transect surveys, and invertebrate pitfall trapping across a minimum of 12 hectares of designated land in Birmingham. Estimated duration: 25 working days.

The total estimated duration for the Biologist engagement under this Quotation Estimate is approximately 110 working days (approximately 22 weeks), commencing from the date of written acceptance. The project will be executed in phases as outlined in Section 2, with interim progress reports submitted to the client bi-weekly. All fieldwork will be conducted in compliance with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017, as enforced in the United Kingdom Birmingham region.
5.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Upon expiry, all rates and availability of the Biologist team are subject to reconfirmation.
5.2 Payment terms: 30% deposit upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate, 40% upon completion of all field surveys in Birmingham, and 30% upon final delivery and acceptance of the BIA and Mitigation Plan. All payments are due within fourteen (14) days of invoice date.
5.3 The Biologist and Meridian Biological Consultancy Ltd shall carry professional indemnity insurance of no less than £5,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than £10,000,000, as is standard practice for ecological consultants operating in the United Kingdom.
5.4 Any variation in scope, additional survey sites within Birmingham, or extended timelines beyond the originally agreed schedule shall be subject to a supplementary Quotation Estimate issued in writing and accepted by both parties prior to commencement of additional work.
5.5 All data, reports, and deliverables produced under this engagement shall remain the intellectual property of the client upon full payment. The Biologist retains the right to anonymised data for academic and professional development purposes, subject to client confidentiality agreements.
5.6 This Quotation Estimate is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this engagement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom, with the primary venue being Birmingham.
5.7 The Biologist shall comply with all applicable health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and shall provide a Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) prior to any on-site activity in Birmingham.
By signing below, the client acknowledges and accepts the terms, conditions, and financial figures set out in this Quotation Estimate for the engagement of a Biologist to deliver the specified ecological services in United Kingdom Birmingham. This document constitutes a binding agreement upon countersignature by both parties.
