1. Scope of Work – Biomedical Engineer Services

This Quotation Estimate is issued by MedTech Solutions (Pty) Ltd to provide the professional services of a qualified Biomedical Engineer for the period of twelve (12) months, commencing 1 August 2025. The Biomedical Engineer will be based in South Africa Cape Town and will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and the Hospital Biomedical Engineering Department. The scope encompasses the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance of all biomedical and medical diagnostic equipment across the hospital's inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments.

3. Terms and Conditions of This Quotation Estimate

  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Thereafter, pricing may be subject to revision due to market fluctuations in parts, labour costs, or exchange-rate movements affecting imported calibration equipment.
  2. The Biomedical Engineer assigned to this contract must hold a valid EITSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) registration and a BEng or BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Engineering. A copy of the professional registration certificate will be provided prior to commencement.
  3. All services will be rendered at the client's premises in South Africa Cape Town. Travel and accommodation costs within the Cape Town metropolitan area are included. Travel to sites outside the Cape Town metro area will be billed at R 8.50 per km plus applicable tolls.
  4. Payment terms: 50% of the total contract value is due upon signature of the service agreement; the remaining 50% is payable in equal monthly instalments over the twelve-month contract period, due on the 25th of each month.
  5. The Biomedical Engineer shall comply with all applicable South African legislation, including the National Health Act (Act 61 of 2003), the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) regarding patient data encountered during equipment servicing.
  6. Any additional work outside the scope defined in Section 2 will be subject to a separate written Quotation Estimate and must be approved in writing by the client before execution.
  7. MedTech Solutions (Pty) Ltd shall maintain professional indemnity insurance of no less than R 5,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than R 2,000,000 for the duration of the contract.
  8. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until both parties have executed the formal Service Level Agreement (SLA) document.

4. Acceptance and Authorisation

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, scope, and pricing outlined herein for the engagement of a Biomedical Engineer in South Africa Cape Town.
