This Quotation Estimate is issued in response to the formal request received on 28 May 2025 from the Kathmandu University Institute of Economics & Policy Research for the procurement of The Economist institutional subscription package, digital platform access, and associated academic licensing services for use within Nepal Kathmandu. - Validity: This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, pricing may be revised to reflect changes in exchange rates, import duties in Nepal, or publisher list prices for The Economist.
- Payment Terms: 50% advance payment upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate; the remaining 50% due within 30 days of the commencement date (1 September 2025). Payment to be made via bank transfer to the supplier's account in Kathmandu, Nepal.
- Delivery Schedule: Print editions of The Economist shall be delivered every Thursday to the designated address in Nepal Kathmandu. Digital platform access shall be activated within five (5) business days of receipt of the advance payment.
- Licensing: The digital access license is non-transferable and restricted to the named institution in Nepal Kathmandu. Concurrent user limits shall not be exceeded without written consent from the supplier.
- Intellectual Property: All content from The Economist, including articles, data, charts, and reports, remains the intellectual property of Economist Group. The academic reproduction license (Item 5) permits limited classroom use only and does not grant rights for commercial redistribution.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays caused by natural disasters, government policy changes in Nepal, international shipping disruptions, or other events beyond reasonable control.
- Governing Law: This Quotation Estimate and any resulting contract shall be governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Nepal, with disputes to be resolved through arbitration in Kathmandu.
- Tax Compliance: The client is responsible for any additional local taxes, customs duties, or regulatory fees imposed by the Nepal government beyond those explicitly stated in this estimate.
- Renewal: Upon expiry of the 12-month term, renewal pricing for The Economist services shall be quoted separately, with a 5% loyalty discount applied for continued subscription.
- Cancellation: Cancellation within the first 30 days of the subscription period entitles the client to a pro-rata refund of unused services. Cancellation after 30 days is non-refundable for the current billing period.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge that this Quotation Estimate constitutes a binding offer for the procurement of The Economist institutional services for use in Nepal Kathmandu, subject to the terms and conditions outlined above.
