SCOPE OF SERVICES – FILM DIRECTOR ENGAGEMENT

This Quotation Estimate is issued by Visual Story Productions Sdn. Bhd. to formally outline the professional services to be rendered by our senior Film Director, Mr. Daniel Tan (18 years of experience in narrative and documentary filmmaking), for the production of the 90-minute documentary feature titled "Echoes of the Straits." All services will be executed primarily in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, with select location shoots in Penang and Sabah as detailed below. This Quotation Estimate covers the full creative and operational leadership of the Film Director from pre-production through to final delivery.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Upon expiry, all rates and availability of the Film Director are subject to revision without prior notice.
Payment Terms: 40% advance deposit (RM 93,528.00) is due upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate to secure the Film Director's schedule. The remaining 60% (RM 140,292.00) shall be paid in two equal instalments: 30% upon completion of principal photography and 30% upon final delivery of all creative assets.
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to Visual Story Productions Sdn. Bhd., Maybank Account No. 5123-4567-8901, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Invoices will be issued in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
The Film Director retains full creative authority over artistic decisions including shot composition, pacing, and narrative structure. The client reserves the right to request up to three (3) rounds of revisions per milestone as outlined in the scope.
Any additional shooting days, location changes beyond Malaysia Kuala Lumpur and the agreed states, or scope expansions beyond this Quotation Estimate will be billed at the applicable daily rate plus 15% for expedited scheduling.
The Film Director shall be provided with reasonable working conditions, including a dedicated production office in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur during pre-production, a production trailer on set, and access to all dailies within 24 hours of each shooting day.
Intellectual Property: Upon full and final payment, all deliverables (final film, trailer, BTS short, and commentary track) shall become the sole property of the client. The Film Director retains the right to use the work for portfolio, festival submissions, and academic purposes with proper credit attribution.
Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays caused by natural disasters, government-imposed restrictions (including but not limited to those affecting filming permits in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur), pandemics, or other events beyond reasonable control.
This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until a formal Production Agreement is executed by both parties. The terms herein shall form the schedule of works within such agreement.
Governing Law: This Quotation Estimate and any resulting agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Kuala Lumpur under the rules of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).

ACCEPTANCE AND AUTHORIZATION

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined for the engagement of the Film Director for the production based in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.
