Scope of ServicesThis Quotation Estimate covers the engagement of a qualified and experienced Journalist based in Australia Melbourne to perform the following duties over a twelve-month contract period commencing 1 August 2025:
- Research, writing, and editing of long-form and short-form articles for print and digital publications distributed across Melbourne and the broader Australian market.
- Attendance at up to twenty (20) press conferences, municipal council meetings, and public events held within the City of Melbourne, the Port Phillip, and the Yarra local government areas.
- Conducting in-depth interviews with community leaders, government officials, and industry stakeholders across the Melbourne metropolitan region.
- Production of weekly news bulletins and monthly feature stories tailored to the interests of Melbourne-based readerships.
- Collaboration with the client's in-house communications team to align editorial output with organisational messaging and brand strategy.
- Management of social media content calendars, including the drafting of captions, threads, and multimedia descriptions for platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Facebook.

This Quotation Estimate is structured on a quarterly payment basis. Invoices will be issued on the last business day of each calendar quarter (30 September, 31 December, 31 March, and 30 June). Payment is due within thirty (30) calendar days of the invoice date via direct bank transfer to the account details provided on each invoice. Late payments will attract interest at the rate prescribed under the Australian Consumer Law.
Terms & Conditions- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Upon expiry, all rates and availability of the assigned Journalist are subject to reconfirmation.
- All work performed by the Journalist shall be conducted in accordance with the Australian Press Council's Code of Ethics, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and applicable Victorian state legislation.
- The Journalist engaged under this quotation shall be based in Australia Melbourne and is expected to be available for on-site duties at the client's Melbourne premises no fewer than three (3) days per week.
- Intellectual property rights for all written content, photographs, and multimedia assets produced under this engagement shall vest in the client upon full and final payment, subject to the Journalist's right of attribution.
- Either party may terminate this engagement with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of early termination, the client shall be liable for all services rendered up to the termination date.
- Meridian Media & Communications Pty Ltd shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum cover of AUD $10,000,000 and public liability insurance of AUD $20,000,000 for the duration of the contract.
- All rates quoted in this Quotation Estimate are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the current rate of 10% as administered by the Australian Taxation Office.
- Any variations to the scope of work must be agreed in writing by both parties prior to commencement of the additional work. A supplementary Quotation Estimate will be issued for any such variations.
- This engagement is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved through the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) or the Supreme Court of Victoria, as appropriate.
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein for the engagement of the Journalist services in Australia Melbourne.
