Terms and Conditions
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After the expiration date, rates and availability of the Journalist may be subject to revision.
- All services will be performed by a qualified, experienced Journalist with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional reporting experience in the Canada Vancouver media landscape. The assigned Journalist will hold membership in the Canadian Association of Journalists and will adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Journalists.
- Payment terms: 40% deposit due upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate; 30% due upon completion of field reporting; 30% due upon final delivery of all edited materials. All payments are due within fifteen (15) business days of invoice date.
- All rates are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of the Journalist's professional fees. Applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the current British Columbia rate of 5% has been calculated and included in the total.
- The Journalist retains full editorial independence. While the client may provide guidance on themes and subjects, the final editorial decisions regarding narrative structure, interview selection, and factual presentation rest with the Journalist in accordance with professional journalistic standards.
- All intellectual property, including scripts, recordings, and written content produced under this engagement, shall be jointly owned by the client and Pacific Northwest Media Group Inc., unless otherwise agreed in a separate written addendum.
- Any changes to the scope of work beyond the parameters outlined in this Quotation Estimate will require a written change order signed by both parties. Additional hours or services will be billed at the rates specified in the itemized table above.
- This engagement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through mediation in Canada Vancouver before proceeding to litigation.
- The Journalist will comply with all applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), when handling personal information collected during interviews and fieldwork.
- Force majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather conditions common to the Canada Vancouver coastal climate, public health emergencies, or government-mandated restrictions.
