The Journalist will be based in United States Los Angeles and will conduct all fieldwork, interviews, archival research, and editorial production within the city and its surrounding counties, including but not limited to Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the San Fernando Valley.
The Journalist will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews with no fewer than twenty-five (25) sources, including municipal officials, community leaders, industry executives, and private citizens. All reporting will adhere to the ethical standards established by the Society of Professional Journalists and the California Press Association. The Journalist will produce a minimum of twelve (12) long-form articles, each ranging between 3,000 and 5,000 words, accompanied by original photography, audio recordings, and video documentation where applicable.

This Quotation Estimate assumes a payment structure divided into four (4) equal installments, each due at the following milestones: (a) 25% upon execution of the service agreement; (b) 25% upon completion of the pre-production and initial field reporting phase; (c) 25% upon delivery of the first six (6) finalized articles; and (d) 25% upon final delivery of all Journalist deliverables and multimedia assets. All payments shall be made via wire transfer to the designated account of Pacific Coast Media Group, LLC, a registered entity in the State of California, United States. Late payments shall accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month as permitted under California commercial law.
5.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After the expiration date, all rates and availability of the Journalist must be reconfirmed in writing.
5.2 The Journalist engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall maintain full editorial independence. Meridian Publishing & Broadcasting Co. shall not direct the Journalist to alter factual reporting, suppress verified information, or modify the narrative structure of completed articles beyond standard editorial corrections.
5.3 All intellectual property rights in the final articles, photographs, audio, and video produced by the Journalist shall transfer to the client upon full and final payment, subject to a non-exclusive license retained by the Journalist for portfolio and academic use.
5.4 The Journalist shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws of the United States and the State of California, including but not limited to the California Public Records Act, the Federal Privacy Act, and all municipal ordinances governing media access in the City of Los Angeles.
5.5 Any scope changes, additional reporting days, or extended fieldwork beyond the parameters outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall require a written amendment signed by both parties before work commences.
5.6 This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract. A formal service agreement must be executed by both parties before the Journalist commences any work.
Important Note: All rates in this Quotation Estimate are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of applicable California state sales tax, Los Angeles County business tax, and any federal withholding obligations.
