Payment for the services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall be made as follows: a non-refundable retainer of twenty-five percent (25%) of the total estimated amount, equivalent to $14,293.13 CAD, is due upon execution of the engagement agreement. The remaining balance shall be invoiced in two equal installments: the first upon completion of the main arbitration hearing, and the second upon delivery of the final arbitral award. All payments are to be made in Canadian Dollars (CAD) via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the account of Justice Services Group Inc., Bank of Montreal, Montreal, QC, Canada. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate of 1.5% per month as permitted under the Code civil du Québec.

  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates and availability of the Judge are subject to reconfirmation.
  2. The Judge's engagement is contingent upon the execution of a formal Arbitration Agreement and a separate Judicial Services Contract between the Client and Justice Services Group Inc.
  3. All proceedings shall be conducted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Montreal. The Judge shall apply the rules of evidence and procedure as agreed upon by the parties or as prescribed by the Loi sur l'arbitrage commercial.
  4. The Judge shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters, documents, and deliberations pertaining to the arbitration. This obligation of confidentiality survives the conclusion of the proceeding for a period of five (5) years.
  5. Any additional hours, services, or extensions beyond the scope described in this Quotation Estimate shall be subject to a written amendment and prior written approval from the Client.
  6. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until both parties have signed and returned the engagement agreement. It is solely an estimate of costs and does not guarantee the final amount, which may vary based on the complexity and duration of the proceeding.
  7. Governing law for this Quotation Estimate and any resulting contract shall be the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from this estimate shall be resolved by the courts of competent jurisdiction in Montreal, Canada.
  8. The Judge reserves the right to recuse himself or herself in the event of a conflict of interest that arises after the initial engagement. In such a case, a replacement Judge of equivalent seniority and expertise shall be proposed at no additional cost to the Client.

By signing below, the Client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and estimated costs set forth herein for the engagement of the Judge in the arbitration proceeding to be conducted in Montreal, Canada. This signature does not constitute a final contract but serves as authorization to proceed with the preparation of the formal engagement documents.
