2. Scope of Work – Librarian Services in India BangaloreThe proposed Librarian will be a full-time, on-site professional deployed at the client's premises in India Bangalore for a contract period of twelve (12) months, renewable upon mutual agreement. The Librarian shall possess a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (M.LIS) from a UGC-recognized university in India, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in academic and research library management. The Librarian will be proficient in Indian national library standards, the National Library of India cataloguing protocols, and international standards including MARC 21, RDA, and Dublin Core metadata frameworks.
The primary responsibilities of the Librarian in this engagement include but are not limited to: daily management of the physical and digital library collections; acquisition, cataloguing, and classification of new books, journals, and digital resources in accordance with the Dewey Decimal Classification system and Indian Standard Classification; maintenance of the library management software (KOHA or equivalent); coordination with publishers and distributors across India Bangalore and national book fairs; management of inter-library loan services; conduct of information literacy workshops for students and faculty; oversight of the digital repository and e-journal subscriptions; and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on library usage statistics, collection growth, and budget utilization.

* All amounts are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR). The above Quotation Estimate is exclusive of any statutory deductions such as TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) as per the Income Tax Act, 1961 of India. The Librarian's professional fee is inclusive of employer's contribution towards PF, ESI, and gratuity as mandated by Indian labour regulations.
4. Terms & Conditions of this Quotation Estimate- This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue, i.e., until 15 July 2025. Beyond this period, pricing may be revised to reflect market conditions in India Bangalore.
- The proposed Librarian shall be subject to a background verification, reference check, and a one-week paid trial period before the commencement of the full contract term.
- Payment terms: 25% advance upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate, 50% upon successful completion of the digital repository migration and software setup, and the remaining 25% upon satisfactory completion of the 12-month contract period. Monthly professional fees for the Librarian shall be payable within 15 days of the end of each calendar month.
- The Librarian shall adhere to all institutional policies, data protection guidelines, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India while handling digital records and patron data.
- Either party may terminate the engagement with a written notice of sixty (60) days. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata adjustment shall be applied to the remaining balance of this Quotation Estimate.
- All intellectual property, cataloguing records, and reports generated by the Librarian during the contract period shall remain the exclusive property of the client institution in India Bangalore.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until formally accepted in writing by both parties and countersigned by authorized representatives.
- Any disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved through arbitration in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
- The Librarian shall be provided with a dedicated workstation, internet access, and reasonable office facilities by the client at the India Bangalore premises.
